A Key to Unleash God’s Power / “You Have a Two-Edged Sword”‏ – HFJ42

This is so good! The past week the Lord’s been connecting confession #9 with words about needing to SPEAK/CONFESS His Word again so that it’s going forth from our mouths as His double edged sword into our circumstances to penetrate and divide ~ accomplishing and achieving the purpose for which it was sent! He has also described this process of speaking the Word as putting the key in the ignition of a car and turning it ~ stating that this is necessary in order to release the power and potential that will otherwise lay dormant and untapped. But when we speak/declare His Word, we turn that key in the ignition and the power and potential of the car to go anywhere we need to go is UNLEASHED. (Truly- ANYWHERE we need to go that He’s told us to go. Remember – His divine power has given us EVERYTHING we need for life and godliness, through our knowledge of Him and His great and precious promises, through which we participate in His divine nature!!! Thank you Lord!)

Here’s confession #9 again:

“God’s Words are ALIVE and they are ACTIVE. They are sharper than any double-edged sword. They PENETRATE every cell, tissue, organ, system, muscle, and bone.  They are PRECISE! They can divide between soul and spirit, JOINTS and MARROW, performing Holy Spirit surgery. God’s Words are flawless! They know exactly where to go in my body, and they perform with flawless precision! (Hebrews 4:12, II Samuel 22:31, Psalm 18:30)”

I’ve specifically been praying for greater heart revelation again about His Word being ALIVE. So He’s brought some awesome confirmations this week of this passage ~ including Joyce quoting from it in her program that I listened to today – emphasizing that the Word is ALIVE! She talked about how when we both read it with our eyes and hear it with our ears something powerful happens and it goes into us (it PENETRATES and DIVIDES)!!!

Also, last week I shared with one of my friends in this group how the weekend before we began this confession, God was having me meditate on Romans 12:1-2.

I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].

The Lord was re-emphasizing how He wants us to meditate on the Word until we are TRANSFORMED by it (continuing to stress that His Truth TRUMPS and TRANSFORMS our facts/circumstances when we stay in AGREEMENT with it/Him instead of with them). He wants us to continue meditating on His Word until our minds are renewed to be in alignment and agreement with His Word (so we operate according to the mind of Christ). This enables us to know His good, pleasing, and perfect will (which we all desire)! A few days after we began this confession, one of my prophetic friends on FB, whom God often uses to bring precise confirmations of what He’s speaking to us, posted Hebrews 4:12 (which was a confirmation of our confession for this week) AND connected it to Romans 12:1-2 (confirmation of what God was specifically emphasizing to us)!

So this has been another exciting week of precise confirmations! The Lord also reminded me of this devotional from Rick Renner’s Sparkling Gems! The message confirms the things He’s been re-emphasizing this week through Heb 4:12 of the importance that we SPEAK and DECLARE His Word in order to use it as our sword of the Spirit ~ so I wanted to share! You Have a Two-Edged Sword

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword.…— Hebrews 4:12

What is the significance of the “two-edged sword” referred to in Hebrews 4:12? … Notice (in Revelation 1:16) that this “two-edged sword” came out of Jesus’ mouth! Why would Jesus have a sword in His mouth? …

The phrase “two-edged” is taken from the Greek word distomos and is unquestionably one of the oddest words in the entire New Testament. Why is it so odd? Because it is a compound of the word di, meaning two, and the word stomos, which is the Greek word for one’s mouth. Thus, when these two words are compounded into one (distomos), they describe something that is two-mouthed! …

The Word of God is like a sword that has two edges, cutting both ways and doing terrible damage to an aggressor. Ephesians 6:17 calls it “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (see February 8). As noted, the term “word” is taken from the Greek word rhema, which describes something that is spoken clearly, vividly, in unmistakable terms and undeniable language. In the New Testament, the word rhema carries the idea of a quickened word. Here’s an example of a rhema or a quickened word: You are praying about a situation, and suddenly a Bible verse rises up from inside your heart. At that moment, you are consciously aware that God has given you a verse to stand on and to claim for your situation. You’ve received a word that came right out of the mouth of God and dropped into your spirit! That word from God was so sharp that it cut right through your questions, intellect, and natural logic and lodged deep within your heart. After you meditated on that rhema, or that quickened word from God, it suddenly began to release its power inside you. Soon you couldn’t contain it any longer! Everything within you wanted to declare what God had said to you. You wanted to say it. You want to release it out of your mouth! And when you did, those powerful words were sent forth like a mighty blade to drive back the forces of hell that had been marshaled against you, your family, your business, your ministry, your finances, your relationship, or your body.

First, that word came out of the mouth of God. Next, it came out of your mouth! When it came out of your mouth, it became a sharp, “two-edged” — or literally, a “two-mouthed” — sword. One edge of this sword came into existence when the Word initially proceeded out of God’s mouth. The second edge of this sword was added when the Word of God proceeded out of YOUR mouth!

The Word of God remains a one-bladed sword when it comes out of God’s mouth and drops into your heart but is never released from your own mouth by faith. That supernatural word simply lies dormant in your heart, never becoming the two-edged sword God designed it to be. But something happens in the realm of the Spirit when you finally rise up and begin to speak forth that word. The moment it comes out of your mouth, a second edge is added to the blade! Nothing is more powerful than a word that comes first from God’s mouth and then from your mouth. You and God have come into AGREEMENT, and that agreement releases His mighty power into the situation at hand!

So begin to willfully take the Word into your spirit by meditating on it and giving it a place of top priority. This is how you take the first necessary step in giving the Word a “second edge” in your life. Then when you are confronted by a challenge from the demonic realm, the Holy Spirit will be able to reach down into the reservoir of God’s Word you have stored up on the inside of you and pull up the exact scripture you need for that moment. As that quickened rhema word from God begins to first fill your heart and mind and then come out of your mouth, it becomes that “two-mouthed sword” described in the Scriptures. That’s when demons start to tremble in terror! (Copyright, Renner Ministries)

I noticed that the word “dormant” was used in both analogies the Lord gave us to describe the power of His Word in our lives when we fail to come into agreement with it and speak it/act on it in faith. So I hope this blesses you and encourages us all to release God’s word as the sword of the Spirit out of our mouths to defeat the enemy ~ and to put His Word in our mouths as a key in the ignition and turn it (declare it), releasing all the power and potential we need to get anywhere we need to go (accomplishing ANY “impossibility” God’s given us promises for in every area of life)!
Blessings and Prayers!
