Woe to The Complacent in Zion – Seek the Lord and Live

(Posted to FB Dec 11, 13)

This story aired on CBN yesterday about this comment from a senior homeland security advisor:

“I do consider the US an Islamic country with an Islamically compliant constitution,” #MohammedElibiary on his Twitter account.

The tweet raised eyebrows thanks to Elibiary’s senior role on the Department of Homeland Security Advisory Council, where he helps craft America’s counterterrorism policies.

“The enemy is inside the wire”

They aired another segment today about the damage this administration’s foreign policy has done, in which they shared that the perception in the middle East is that the US will not be around much longer….

This verse I read this morning stood out to me:

“Woe to you who are complacent in Zion, and to you who feel secure on Mount Samaria (Samaria means “Watch Tower”), you notable men of the foremost nation, to whom the people of Israel come!” ~ Amos 6:1

We/our nation MUST return to God. He has been crying out, “Seek Me and live” ~ Amos 5:4

“Seek the Lord and live….” ~ Amos 5:6

Signs of the End – part 2

(Part 2 – continued from same day)

Here’s Rick’s devo I had read earlier that morning before receiving Mark’s post:
************************************************************

A Signal That Jesus’ Return Is Near

by Rick Renner

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him. —  2 Thessalonians 2:1

When Paul wrote his second letter to the church of Thessalonica, he was exceedingly excited at the thought of Jesus’ soon return. In fact, he was so thrilled about the prospect of Jesus’ coming again that he devoted the entire second chapter of Second Thessalonians to the events that would occur in the last days.

As Paul wrote this famous chapter about the events of the last days, he began by declaring, “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him.” … The word erotao (translated “beseech”) means to ask or to make a strong request. This word calls upon the listener to cautiously listen to what is being said and to respond in a fitting manner to what has been heard. Because Paul is speaking of the coming of the Lord and uses the word erotao to appeal to his listeners, he clearly means for them to take his words seriously and to let these words make a strong impact in their lives.

When we think about the coming of the Lord, it should make a strong impact in our lives. It should affect the way we live, the way we think, the way we carry on in our relationships, and the way we invest our money into the Kingdom of God. It is simply a fact that Jesus is coming for His Church, and we should constantly live in the light of His coming. When we live with the awareness that Jesus is coming again, it changes our conduct and behavior. By using the word erotao (“beseech”), Paul is communicating to his readers that they have a responsibility to respond to his message about Jesus’ soon return. They are to live in a godly, upright, and holy manner as they wait for “the coming of our Lord.”

Then he begins to speak to them about the “coming of our Lord.” The word “coming” is from the Greek word parousia. This word always places special emphasis on the Presence of the Lord — especially the Presence of God that can be tangibly felt among His people. Here it is used to describe the strong Presence of God that will be felt when Jesus returns to gather His people to Himself. The word implies that the Church will feel a phenomenal divine Presence when it is time for Jesus to gather His people to Himself at the end of the age. This means that as we come closer to the return of Jesus, the parousia — the strong Presence of the Lord — will be strongly sensed among believers. In fact, the ever-growing, strong Presence of the Lord in the midst of the Church will be one of the signals that Jesus’ return is close at hand. As His Presence gets stronger and stronger, we will know it is time for Him to return to “gather” us to Himself.

When Paul speaks about “our gathering together unto Him,” the phrase “gathering together” comes from the Greek word episunagoge. … In Second Thessalonians 2:1, Paul uses the word episunagoge (“gathering together”) to describe that future moment when the Lord will quickly gather or collect His people together to Himself at the end of the age. At that divine moment, all of God’s people will be quickly gathered together and collected in a common assembly to meet the Lord in the air. What a meeting that will be! …

The apostle Peter warned us that at the end of the age, many scoffers would mock at the promise of Jesus’ return, asserting that if Jesus was going to come, surely He would have already come. Peter wrote, “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming?…” (2 Peter 3:3,4).

The word “scoffers” is from the Greek word empaidzo, and it described one who makes fun of another through mockery. It conveyed the idea of disdain, scorn, derision, and ridicule. The Greek word empaidzo also meant to play a game. It was often used for playing a game with children or for amusing a crowd by impersonating someone in a silly and exaggerated way. For instance, this word might be used in a game of charades when someone intends to comically portray someone or even make fun of someone. We find this word used in Luke 22:63, where the Bible tells us, “And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.” The Greek word empaidzo categorically lets us know that these men turned a few minutes of that nightmarish night before Jesus’ crucifixion into a stage of comedy at His expense. They put on quite a show, hamming it up as they almost certainly pretended to be Jesus and the people He ministered to. … Whatever these leaders did to mock Jesus, it was a game of charades to mimic and make fun of Him.

Now Peter uses this same word to depict mockers in the last days who would make fun of those who believe in Jesus’ coming. I can almost hear them saying, “Come on, if Jesus was going to come, don’t you think He would have been here by now? Quit hanging on to this false hope, you dreamers!” But the grammar used in Second Peter 3:3,4 tells us that this mocking is the characteristic behavior of these scoffers. It could be more accurately translated, “Mockers will come mocking.” In other words, they don’t only mock on occasion; they are mockers by habit. … But regardless of what doubt-filled believers or antagonistic unbelievers say as they mock us, the truth is that Jesus is coming again soon!…

So in the days to come, close your ears to the mockers who make fun of you for believing in Jesus’ soon return. Then open your heart to the Holy Spirit, and allow Him to make you sensitive to His voice inside your spirit. As you are faithful to do this, you will recognize that moment when the Presence of God becomes much stronger in the Church, and you’ll know that moment for what it is — one of the greatest indications that Jesus’ return is upon us!

Prayer

Lord, help me to be sensitive to Your Presence so I can be aware of that moment when Your coming is near to us. Help me close my ears to those mockers who say You will never come. By Your grace, I will hold tightly to Your promise that You will come one day to collect Your people to Yourself. Help me live a life that is holy — one that pleases You and for which I will not be ashamed when You suddenly appear to gather the Church to Yourself. I pray this in Jesus’ name!

Confession

I confess that I am living a holy life that pleases God, a life for which I am not ashamed. I say no to sin; I crucify my flesh; and I do my very best to yield to and walk in the Spirit. I am sensitive to the Presence of God. And when the moment draws near for Jesus to come and collect His people to Himself, I will sense the growing strength of His Presence in the Church and will recognize it as a signal that God’s people will soon be leaving planet earth! I believe in Jesus’ coming; I expect it in my lifetime; and I am doing all I can to preach the Gospel to the lost so they won’t be left out when Jesus gathers the Church to Himself. I declare this by faith in Jesus’ name!

Questions

1. Are you living a life that makes you feel confident about seeing Jesus face to face when He returns for His people? Or are you allowing secret sins in your life that make you fearful about Jesus’ soon return? If you answered yes to the second question, what are those secret sins, and what steps do you need to take to remove them from your life?

2. What can you do to increase your spiritual sensitivity so you will recognize the moment when the Presence of God suddenly and supernaturally energizes the Church, alerting God’s people that the time for Jesus’ arrival is upon them?

3. Write down two lists, answering the following two questions: What things do you need to remove from your life because they adversely affect your spiritual sensitivity? What do you need to add to your life to help you become more spiritually sensitive? © Rick Renner, excerpts from Sparkling Gems from the Greek
***************************************************************

In light of these messages, I want to conclude with something Rick wrote in a different devo that also goes along perfectly with this theme:

***************************************************************

Please realize what a critical time you are living in right now. …

…don’t you think it’s time for you to reach out to your unsaved friends and family members and speak to them about the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ? Ask the Holy Spirit to give you an opportunity to speak to them; then let Him fill your mouth with the right words as you earnestly plead with them to make Jesus Christ the Lord of their lives.

Lord, I ask You to give me the boldness I need to present the Gospel to my friends and family members who are unsaved. I know that if they don’t receive Jesus, they will be lost in sin and caught in the delusion that is coming upon the world in the days to come. I don’t want to stand before You knowing that they are lost because I was too afraid to open my mouth and tell them of Your saving blood. Holy Spirit, please give me the boldness I need and the right words to speak to those who are near and dear to my heart. When I stand before You, I want to be assured in my heart that I did everything I could to rescue those who are lost and perishing. Please help me to do this and to start today! I pray this in Jesus’ name! © Rick Renner, excerpts from Sparkling Gems from the Greek

Signs of the End – part 1

The Lord has not stopped speaking about His return and signs of the end. Anyone familiar with Bible prophecy can look at what is going on in Israel and realize the stage is being set for the antichrist to come on the scene any moment. God continues to speak of the importance of laying aside all that distracts, praying and seeking Him like never before, and focusing on fulfilling our assignments, including bringing in the final harvest. He has spoken of the urgency for the church to get as many saved as possible now because of the increase of demonic deception that will be present after the antichrist takes his place.

God also continues to speak about indicators/signs in society and continues to strongly emphasize repentance – beginning with the church (with His people individually and corporately). I believe He’s shown us the parallel of how the message of lawlessness (acceptance of remaining in sin) is the forerunner message which prepares the way for the devil’s anti-“anointed one” (II Thess 2) in the same way that the Lord sends forerunners with the message of repentance from sin to prepare the way for His Anointed One (Christ Jesus). For those familiar with the concept of the “bizarro world” (where things are inverted or opposite) – it could be likened to the “bizarro” (or anti) forerunner message that prepares the way for the “bizarro” (or anti) christ. Because of this increased opposition to His Truth in society, He continues to surround us with messages of the necessity that we must be willing to lay down and sacrifice our lives (in whatever form necessary) to remain committed to Him, to stand for the Truth of His Word, and to complete the assignments He’s given us (individually and corporately as the church). (much more to all this, but think it’s to be for a different post so this doesn’t get overwhelmingly long…again).

The inspiration for this message, however, began with some interesting messages in the past months about signs in the heavens. John blood moon tetradHagee recently released a book on the coming 4 blood moons and a theory about their possible significance. Since I haven’t read it, I am not endorsing it or the premise behind it, but was intrigued and read a bit about it. I also read a counter to the premise behind this book. In the end the writer still believed that other indicators support that events of Biblical proportion are on the horizon, even if he wasn’t convinced that the coming blood moon tetrad is an irrefutable sign from God about them. When Kamaal Saleem last spoke at CFAN, he also mentioned these coming 4 blood moons and talked about a dream or vision he’d had, an encounter with the Lord, including confirmations of things we believe He’s been speaking in these past three years. (You can find that message on CFAN’s website archives from Sunday November 3 if interested.)

Then this morning (11/26), my friend Mark tagged me in this post below (shared from Bruce Timpany, who looks like he’s quoting, in part, from the ministry who put together the video he gave a link for at the end of his post):

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“The Most Sensational Signs in the Sky which rival the Star of Bethlehem are about to be seen in different parts of the world, yet like the Star of Bethlehem, so many people will have little idea about the Savior they are pointing to. … The Bible tells us to make aware and be prepared! God made the sun, moon and stars to point to His seasons. God wrote His Word to explain these seasons and how to be saved before it’s too late.”
First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.
By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.  But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. II Peter 3
“The Bible records the sad news of how the people in the last days would actually choose to be scoffers instead of taking God up on His offer to be rescued before its too late. God really did judge this world once, and He’s going to do it again. Time is running out and the rain’s going to be here before you know it. Please, don’t be like the scoffers of Noah’s day. Discover the evidences of A Judged Creation and enter the ark of Yeshua Jesus before it’s too late!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The post included this link to an interesting youtube video about 8 coming signs in the heavens – scheduled to begin with comet Ison, predicted to be the brightest comet ever on 11/28/13 (Thanksgiving – which also coincided with Hanukkah this year – aka the feast of lights)
. (Again, this is not an endorsement of everything said on the video.)

Again, though I cannot presume to speak with any authority about the significance of the blood moon tetrad or any other heavenly signs mentioned in the video (though if what he says about Jupiter and Virgo is accurate that is AWESOME and truly sounds like the Lord proclaiming Jesus in the heavens!), I believe the Lord was at the very least confirming the current significance of II Peter 3 again. (II Peter 2 and 3 have been significant themes the past 3 years.) I had just read from Peter’s letters this very same morning (11/26), as well as this devotional thought from Rick Renner (below) which also talks about those who would scoff and mock at believers in the end. I’d been asking the Lord about whether to post Rick’s devo and/or this passage from II Peter 3 when I received the notification that Mark had tagged me in this post. (II Peter 3 also came up again in my time with the Lord on 11/30.) So it certainly seemed like precise confirmation. In addition, those who have followed past posts may remember that “the ark” has had special significance to what the Lord has been speaking to us in the past 3 years. He has continued to surround us with messages about “the ark,” increasing all the more again recently in answer to some of our questions (including a video we recently “happened to” receive about Noah, complete with a noah-ark-scoffersdepiction of the scoffing he endured and the tragic fate of those who sadly did not believe). So the post cited above was also another confirmation of all that. I was also led through the video link in the post to a couple of additional teachings which answered very specific questions I had JUST asked the Lord about that very morning, once again leaving me in AWE of God’s divine orchestration. This was further confirmation that the entire morning was being orchestrated by Him.

 to be continued…

Our Time is Brief

(posted on FB Nov 26, 13)

A few months ago the Lord was really emphasizing the brevity of life and how important it is for us stay focused on fulfilling our purpose. It’s amazing to meditate on the fact that He created each of us with a specific purpose in mind and how we bring Him glory by fulfilling that purpose and calling for which we were made. He was also emphasizing that the right way to die is to know, as Paul, that we fought the good fight, stayed the course, and completed our assignments, so that when we stand before Him face to face, we can do so without shame.

At first, we thought He was just emphasizing this to us as an admonishment to stay focused and get back on track. But as we shared it, we learned it was confirmation of what others were hearing as well. The confirmations continued to come from various sources until we realized this was a message He was broadcasting by His Spirit to many others who were listening. We could easily understand if the Lord was emphasizing this message to an individual, but we were quite fascinated that He was emphasizing this message as a corporate word to His body.

It is a timeless truth that the number of our years (individually) on earth is relatively short and fleeting compared to eternity, but we wondered ~ is the Lord now giving this word corporately to the church as yet another indication and confirmation that collectively as a body our remaining time here is brief?

“Lord, make me to know my end and [to appreciate] the measure of my days—what it is; let me know and realize how frail I am [how transient is my stay here].” Psalm 39:4

“I am here on earth for just a little while; do not hide your commands from me.” Psalm 119:19

“…you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” James 4:14

The Lord brought this theme back to mind today when we saw that CBN was also speaking about the brevity of life and that they aired more segments with interviews or testimonies from those who have experienced a taste of eternity – on one side or the other.

Bill Wiese’s testimony should impact us all, even if we’re saved, since corporately, as the church, the primary purpose God is calling us to stay focused on and to fulfill in whatever fleeting time remains is to bring in the final harvest, fulfill the great commission, and spare as many people as possible from the fate he witnessed. May we all do our part!

Confession #1 Follow up – HFJ2

Continuing to meditate on and declare confession #1 :

“God’s divine power has given me EVERYTHING I NEED for life (natural life) and for godliness (spiritual life) through my KNOWLEDGE OF HIM and HIS GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES which He has given me by His glory and goodness. By believing and receiving His promises I participate in HIS DIVINE NATURE and escape the corruption that is in the world through sin. (II Peter 1:3-4)”

Here are some of the confirmations that have been posted or we’ve received which go along with our confession/verse this week:
from JHM devo ~  “God’s divine power provides me with all I need for life and godliness through my personal knowledge of Him. He gives me his precious and exceedingly great promises, so that I am able, through them, to escape the corruption and moral decay in the world today. His Word goes forth from His mouth and does not return empty—without producing any effect. Rather, it accomplishes exactly that for which He sends it. You, O Lord, are my hiding place and my shield. I place my hope in You, for Your promises are faithful to Your Word.”

AWMI FB status update: “God’s grace has provided not only for salvation but also for EVERY NEED OF YOUR LIFE. In Christ is complete provision!

Paula White FB status update: “When Jesus said “it is finished,” He was saying it is perfectly and completely complete! The cross accomplished EVERYTHING YOU WILL EVER NEED!!

(caps on last 2 mine – added for emphasis)

AND our pastor quoted our verse for the week last night at church too. 🙂 “His Divine Power has given us EVERYTHING WE NEED….through our knowledge of HIM and HIS GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES….”

Here it is again in another version so we can continue rehearsing it and meditating on it through these days.

He gives us everything we need for life and for holy living. He gives it through His great power. As we come to know Him better, we learn that He called us to share His own shining-greatness and perfect life. Through His shining-greatness and perfect life, He has given us promises. These promises are of great worth and no amount of money can buy them. Through these promises you can have God’s own life in you now that you have gotten away from the sinful things of the world which came from wrong desires of the flesh. NLV

Healing/Faith Journey – HFJ1

Welcome!

We’re so glad you’re joining us. The healing/faith journey series originally began as an email group in the fall of 2013. Jesse and I felt the Lord was leading us to go back through my book Healing Confessions based on God’s Word (2008) during that season, in order to take the time to meditate on them one by one. Though we still read from them each night together, we felt we needed to focus on each one for a significant period of time, asking the Lord to help them once again move from mental information to heart revelation that would produce the mountain-moving faith we needed in our situations. We asked those we thought might be interested to join us and the group continued to grow. We are now transferring this series here so people can continue to join us, yet still start from the beginning and work through at their own pace. In addition to the confession for each week, the series also includes confirmations the Lord brings us through various avenues and other recurring themes He emphasizes. Whether your need is for healing or encouragement to hold on to the promises of God in any area, we pray these messages inspire and strengthen you all the way through to the complete manifestation of your victory in Christ!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here’s the first message and the follow up message sent later the same week:
Confession #1 / Scriptures to meditate on wk 1:
“God’s divine power has given me EVERYTHING I NEED for life (natural life) and for godliness (spiritual life) through my KNOWLEDGE OF HIM and HIS GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES which He has given me by His glory and goodness. By believing and receiving His promises I participate in HIS DIVINE NATURE and escape the corruption that is in the world through sin.” (II Peter 1:3-4)
********************
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. II Peter 1:3-4 NIV
For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature. II Peter 1:3-4 AMP
Incalculable Wealth ~ part 2C
(Part 2C – continued from same day; 2A and 2B here)
After writing note 2 (parts A-B), I read the JHM daily devos and was amazed to see continued confirmations of this theme being expressed in these same terms. I’ve included excerpts below from their devos from Sunday and Monday:
******************************
The Promises Of God Belong To Those Who Have Surrendered Their Lives To Christ And Been Cleansed In His Blood!
God’s promises can be considered as spiritual certificates of deposit and we are spiritual heirs to these deposits.  Christ has paid the price for us at the Cross and allows us to present our drafts—these promises—to claim that which God has promised to provide. In return, we receive the great blessings God has pledged to us by, through and on account of His Son, Jesus Christ.
His promises belong to those who are children of God through faith in Jesus – heirs according to His Word. They belong to those who have joined into a spiritual union with Christ and have clothed themselves with His robe of Righteousness.
He Instructs Us To Study The Scriptures Diligently To Know And Understand His Will And Promises For Our Lives
His promises are made to be taken by His children..who believe and claim them. They were not made to lay concealed in a gold-edged Bible, but to be read, understood and used. The fact is, the Bible is like a checkbook given to the needy, and we are to use it when we want to make a withdrawal from our Promise account. God has given promises to every kind and description of person; and these promises were given not to be hoarded up, but to be used—we are to draw liberally and freely upon the Divine bounty for all the blessing that we need.
*******************************
Then Tuesday, the KCM devo also quoted II Peter 1:3-4 (mentioned in the first note) and talked again about how, God makes available everything we could possibly need, every conceivable blessing, through the promises in His Word.” Then that night when we went to bed, Jesse “randomly” opened to the page from the healing confessions book that has these confessions:
God’s DIVINE POWER has given me EVERYTHING I NEED for life (natural life) and godliness (spiritual life) through my KNOWLEDGE OF HIM  and HIS GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES  that He has given me by His glory and goodness. By believing and receiving His promises I participate in His DIVINE NATURE! (II Peter 1:3-6)
Because I am in Christ, God has given me an eternal response of “YES” to EVERY promise He has EVER made…. I say “A-men” to His promises ~ my agreement of faith, declaring, “So shall they be” in my life! (II Corinthians 1:18-22)
We knew God was continuing to surround us with confirmations that He’s emphasizing these things again at this time (for us, and I suspect for many others as well).
He’s also re-emphasizing the necessity that we not fail to use the authority He has given us to overthrow the words, works, and weapons of the enemy in our lives by declaring His Word and promises out of our mouths as our sword of the Spirit, proactively fighting spiritual warfare. And He’s reminding us that we must not neglect to raise up our shield of faith to extinguish EVERY flaming arrow of the enemy. (For more encouragement to persevere with the Word in our battles see parts 1-3 of “Overthrow the Enemy….”)
Lord, we hear You! Help us not to be deceived by only hearing and mentally knowing these truths and therefore thinking we’re living in it to the full extent that we can and should. Help us to rise up out of every place where we’ve become complacent, lethargic, or weary and to be fiercely determined and committed to be DOERS of all You’re saying, putting it into practice until we receive ALL You paid such a high price for us to have! Help us not to faint, but to continue to be stirred up, white-hot on fire for You, contending with Your promises and prophecies over our lives in order to enforce the victory You purchased for us until we see every area of our lives in alignment with Your perfect will. Help all of us come up to the highest dimensions possible of accessing and operating in our rich, incalculable, all-sufficient inheritance in Christ, that we will manifest Your Kingdom that is within us and advance it as effectively as possible in all the earth till Your glory covers the earth as the waters the sea!!!!!!
All this is reminiscent of the “Keys of the Kingdom” dream He gave me years ago as well. I don’t think I could post that whole thing on FB, but if anyone is interested, let me know and I’ll try to get you a copy.
Still may be another “to be continued” here… (More Confirmations of INCALCULABLE WEALTH!‏ here)
Incalculable Wealth ~ part 2B
(Part 2B – continued from same day; part 2A here)
As we allow the richness of the Word to have its home in us as this says, giving place to it and allowing it to permanently reside in us, fill us, and have its way in our lives, its wealth will begin to eradicate one area of lack after another until all our needs are supplied. Our entire lives will be affected by the limitless resources we have inherited in Christ.
So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free. John 8:31-32
I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit. You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the word which I have given you [the teachings I have discussed with you]. Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. If a person does not dwell in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken-off] branch, and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and they are burned. If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine. John 15:1-8
“…Study this Book of Instruction (Teachings) continually (Let its words be always on your lips). Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey (live by) everything written in it. Then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9
Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]. Psalm 1:1-3
We recently heard a testimony of a woman that was healed who said she just got so full of the Word that there was no longer any room for sickness in her body. She had allowed the Word (and Jesus Himself – the Living Word) to have His home in her, and He was not willing to share His home with disease. The Word evicted that lady’s disease and drove it out. It is ALIVE and ACTIVE, PENETRATING and DIVIDING ~ not just in our spirits and souls, but even in our bodies (between joints and marrow – Hebrews 4:12) ~ it knows exactly where to go in our bodies, and can penetrate every cell, tissue, organ, system, muscle, nerve, and bone and flawlessly perform Holy Spirit surgery there.
But He replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4
The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. John 6:63
Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivers them out of their distresses. He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction. Psalm 107:19-20
My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:20-22
Just as physical wealth contains power to accomplish things, God’s Word contains within it the power to ACCOMPLISH and ACHIEVE what it is sent forth to do.
For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. Luke 1:37
Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it. Jeremiah 1:12
Is not My word like fire [that consumes all that cannot endure the test]? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [of most stubborn resistance]? Jeremiah 23:29
So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11
Just as with physical wealth, when the Word is dwelling in us in all its richness and we learn to access and administer these riches of our inheritance in Christ, not only are all our needs supplied, but we’re also able to give of the overflow from these riches to others. We should be so full of the riches of the Word that we’re able to generously lavish “charitable donations” to others who are in need on every occasion!
Incalculable Wealth ~ part 2A
In the previous note (parts 1A and 1B), I briefly touched on the concept about the importance of the Word in the process of accessing the unlimited inheritance we have been given in Christ.
“Renewing our minds to these truths in His Word and promises, letting the richness of His Word dwell and abide in us, and acknowledging all that we have through Him are vital parts of receiving this rich inheritance He has supplied (John 14-15, Colossians 3:16, Romans 12:1-2, Philemon 1:6). The more we meditate on the truths that Jesus lives in us and on the full implications of all He has purchased and provided for us, the more we can begin to access and administer the glorious riches of our inheritance in and through Him.” (excerpt from 1B)
The Lord continues to emphasize the incalculable wealth He’s given us and the vital role of the Word in accessing it. The day after I wrote the first note, He gave this powerful confirmation from the KCM devo.
Make Those Faith Deposits
Gloria Copeland
Thy word have I hid in mine heart. – Psalm 119:11
Whatever you do in life, whether you’re a surgeon, a garbage collector or a schoolteacher, spending time with God and keeping your heart full of His Word is your No. 1 priority. … The most important thing you’ll do each day is to make those faith deposits. Don’t just make them in times of crisis. Make them before you need them. …proclaim the things that belong to you by faith every day.
I remember a letter Ken and I received from a family whose child drowned in their swimming pool. When they came out and found the baby in the pool, he had already turned blue and quit breathing. But because they had made deposits of the Word of God before that time, the moment it happened, they were ready. Nobody said, “Go get the Bible and look up a scripture.” (Sometimes you don’t have time to get your Bible. That’s why you’d better get the Word in your heart. It will save your life.) Immediately that family began to pray and rebuke death and command the spirit of that baby to come back. As a result, that child is alive and well today.
Do you have enough faith in your heart to handle a situation like this? If you don’t, start making big deposits of God’s Word in your heart now. Start speaking the Word day and night…not just when you’re praying or being spiritual, but all the time—at the office, at the dinner table, over your coffee break, even in your bed at night. The words you speak either work for you or against you. They are either words of faith or words of doubt.
Frankly, I think it’s time we quit being so focused on our financial accounts and turn our attention on the account that’s ultimately responsible for all the rest. We need to become spiritual tycoons, with hearts so full of faith that we foil the devil’s every scheme. If we’ll do that, we will be able to buy back every piece of ground he’s ever stolen from us. We can enjoy the riches of our inheritance at last! Scripture Reading: Psalm 18:20-30 (Copyright © Copeland Ministries)
Colossians 3:16 (cited above) refers to our need to allow Christ’s Word to dwell in us in all of its richness.
Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts. Colossians 3:16
When we continue daily in the Word, making deposits of it in our hearts as Gloria said (daily planting and watering it in our hearts/drawing continually from the life of The Vine), we are depositing its richness in us. The more deposits of this treasure we make, the more we are able to access the riches we have been given in Christ.
I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure. Psalm 119:162
And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times. Psalm 12:6
My son, if you accept my words and store up (and treasure) my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair–every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. Proverbs 2:1-11
The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the [whole] person; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure and bright, enlightening the eyes. The [reverent] fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even than much fine gold; they are sweeter also than honey and drippings from the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is Your servant warned (reminded, illuminated, and instructed); and in keeping them there is great reward. Psalm 19:7-11
Incalculable Wealth – part 1B
(Part 1b – continued from same day; part 1a here)
The one who can heal every sickness and disease, multiply food, supply money through the mouth of a fish, calm the storm, walk on water, give supernatural knowledge and wisdom about the past, present, and future, deliver the oppressed and possessed, raise the dead ~ He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and we now have unrestricted access to Him 24/7/365. All of the healing, provision, wisdom, understanding, guidance, counsel, insight, instruction, direction, protection, strength, fruit of the Spirit and gifts of the Spirit that we could receive if Jesus were here with us in the flesh are available to us NOW through Him living in us by His Spirit. If we are abiding in Him and He in us, we are loaded with all we need to enforce His complete Victory in our lives and to enforce the enemy’s total defeat. Though He might not instantly deliver us from every obstacle and problem, He has promised that His Grace is sufficient for us; His Power and Strength is made perfect in our weakness (II Corinthians 12:9). Though all of us would have been consumed long ago without His continual mercy and grace, He has been re-solidifying in us in this season that this promise that His grace is sufficient for us does not mean that He’s telling us to just resign ourselves to living in subjection to the works and weapons the enemy has arrayed against us! Rather, He’s assuring us that His Grace (His Power, His Strength) that He gives us in our weakness is MORE THAN ENOUGH to empower us to be able to overcome. Again, though He might not always intervene to deliver us in the way we ask (by miraculously removing the problem and giving us an instant manifestation of the victory He’s promised and provided), He will always supply us with more than enough of His Grace, His Power, and His Strength to walk out the process of enforcing our victory by His Word, His blood, His Name, and the Power of His Spirit in us.
Though many may have mental knowledge of these truths, walking in the fullness of them is often a different story. I know in our present battle the Lord is challenging us to come up to higher dimensions of walking in these truths. We pray for ourselves and the whole body of Christ to truly walk in the full revelation and manifestation of Christ in us ~  that we will truly do the things that He did and even greater things, as He promised we would when we’re actively believing in Him. And we pray that we may all walk in the full revelation and manifestation of the glorious riches of His inheritance that is IN US ~ that we will believe and receive ALL Jesus has purchased and provided for us ~ that not one thing He suffered in our place would be in vain.
Renewing our minds to these truths in His Word and promises, letting the richness of His Word dwell and abide in us, and acknowledging all that we have through Him are vital parts of receiving this rich inheritance He has supplied (John 14-15, Colossians 3:16, Romans 12:1-2, Philemon 1:6). The more we meditate on the truths that Jesus lives in us and on the full implications of all He has purchased and provided for us, the more we can begin to access and administer the glorious riches of our inheritance in and through Him.
This devo from KCM this morning brought confirmation to these things the Lord was re-emphasizing:
You Have the Treasure
Kenneth Copeland
We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. – 2 Corinthians 4:7
Take time to feed your inner man so you won’t burn out. Keep feeding your spirit until you increase in strength. Burn brighter and stronger every year. Be transformed from glory to glory by “beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). Increase the wattage of your spiritual generator by spending time focusing on the Lord. Work with Him instead of just for Him. Take your focus off the things of the world and look at Him.
Where must you look to see Jesus? First, in the Word. Second, in your own spirit. We can see Jesus great and magnificent in the Word. We can envision Him sitting grandly in heaven at the right hand of the Father. But we haven’t developed our ability to see Him living inside us. And that is the key.
You must have that ability to survive the pressure in these last days. You’ll need to be able to see Jesus within you just as clearly as you can see Him in the Word. You’ll have to know—not just with your brain, but with every fiber of your being—that He who is within you is greater than he that is in the world.
Never forget this: Once you truly see that the very Spirit and power of Jesus resides on the inside of you, nothing—no amount of debt, no disease, no problem of any kind—will be able to defeat you. When your inner image of the Jesus who lives in you becomes bigger than your image of the problems around you, you’ll conquer any challenge the devil brings your way.
The answer to everything is inside you right now (through Christ). Everything you’ll ever need is in your spirit. All the money…all the health…all the strength…all the wisdom…all of it is in you because that’s where Jesus is! Remember, we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us! Scripture Reading: John 17:20-26 (Copyright © Copeland Ministries)
May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]. May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] POWER THAT IS AT WORK WITHIN US, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]— To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it). Ephesians 3:16-21
Lastly ~ I wanted to share a powerful visual image the Lord gave as a confirmation in July. Because He had been re-emphasizing the vital necessity of us focusing on the revelation of Christ in us to empower us to overcome in our current battle, I was thinking about these things one night as I was getting ready for bed.  When I saw myself in the mirror, I leaned in as close as possible, peering deep into my eyes, searching to see Jesus looking back, and said, “I know YOU’RE IN THERE; I NEED TO SEE YOU and EXPERIENCE YOU FULLY – PLEASE BE MADE FULLY MANIFEST IN ME. LET ME WALK IN THE FULLNESS OF THE REVELATION OF YOU IN ME AND ME IN YOU.” Though we have prayed to walk in this full revelation and manifestation for years, I had never spoken these things to Him in the mirror like this. The next morning, I opened one of my daily devos and was overwhelmed by what I saw. The devo was focused on this very issue, and there at the bottom of the message was this photo (attached). (I added these words to it and now have it in a frame by my bed).roaring_meow
May we all walk in the full revelation and manifestation of
~ CHRIST IN US,
~ the hope of our calling
~ the incalculable wealth we possess through the glorious riches of His inheritance that’s IN US
~ and His incomparably great power for us who believe!
In doing so may we do the things that Jesus did and even greater things, manifesting His Glory and displaying His Splendor ~ demonstrating to the world that God truly sent Jesus, that He is still alive and well, and is now living in and through us. May we be emptied of self, wholly filled and flooded to all the measure of the fullness of Him, and see the fulfillment of Him doing exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ask, hope, or imagine according to this Power that is working IN US!
