The Great Physician’s Prescription for Healing our Land

We’ve been in another season of increased seeking of God’s direction for how to proceed as we have entered 2013. 13 in the Bible is connected with apostasy, defilement, corruption, governments of men in rebellion against God, the devil, but it is also a number of revolution and is connected to the fall of Jericho when the children of Israel began to take the Promised Land. Rather than a year of apostasy and rebellion, we pray this year will be turned to one of revolution for good. And the primary revolution we believe He may have alluded to us in 2011 for this year is the Revelation of Jesus Christ; a renewed unveiling (revelation) of the real Jesus.

The Lord is still speaking to us about the coming destruction of Babylon.

“Sharpen the arrows, take up the shields! The Lord has stirred up the kings of the Medes, because his purpose is to destroy Babylon. The Lord will take vengeance, vengeance for his temple.” Jeremiah 51:11

He is still emphasizing over and over that in our present condition our nation has set ourselves in a position of being His enemies and that He Himself is now against us (James 4:4). He has shown us examples from Israel’s history of when He wanted them to know that He was the One fighting against them in order to bring them to repentance. (We pray He is not indicating we are about to witness these same things in our nation b/c we have not yet returned to Him, but from what He’s showing us it sounds as though our nation now has a front row seat to see what it looks like to have God opposed to us.) He has also spoken of judgment against idols and false prophets whose false words/teachings encourage people to remain in their sins (or lead them into sin).

Last year I mentioned that He spoke to us through the story of Gideon about pulling down the “idols” and “altars” to false gods, and rebuilding the altar of the Lord (Judges 6:25-26) and I asked Him how we were supposed to do this. Immediately afterward, our pastor returned from Uganda telling what he’d learned about this very thing through Pastor Joshua Lwere, who later came to the church to share what the Lord has taught him in this regard.

The Lord has continued to confirm this message. He has recently given us passages about King Asa, one of the Kings of Judah whose heart was fully committed to the Lord all of his life (I Kings 15, II Chronicles 15). He too tore down the idols in the land and rebuilt the altar of the Lord during his reign. II Chronicles 7:14 has been a key passage the Lord has given many regarding the need for our nation to humble ourselves, repent of our sins, and seek Him wholeheartedly, that He would heal our land. The name Asa means “physician” or “healer.” I believe the Great Physician (the Lord) is using the life of Asa (“physican,” “healer”) to once again give the prescription for how to heal our land. The message hasn’t changed. The prescription is still repentance from sin (tearing down the “idols” in our own lives, in the church, and in the nation) and returning wholeheartedly to the Lord (rebuilding His “altar,” and returning Him to the throne of our individual lives, the church, and the nation, so that we truly worship and follow Him).

If we keep trying to fight political battles and solve the crises in this nation without first taking care of this issue, it will be to no avail. We will be fighting the symptoms and never getting to the root of the problem, and we will be fighting against the Lord. He is not going to bless “armchair quarterback” rants about what’s going on in Washington while we continue to “dance around our golden calves” ~ occupying ourselves with pleasure-seeking, entertainment, and other “idols” that keep us from wholeheartedly seeking Him and His Kingdom as our first and highest priority. He is looking for the remnant who will follow His prescription for healing the land and will boldly speak out and lead the way for the rest of the nation. He is still saying we must lay down our lives to do so, not loving them (trying to preserve them), but losing them for His cause (Matthew 10; 16:24-26, John 12:24-26; 15:12-14, I John 3:16, Revelation 12:11). When we follow His prescription for eradicating the root of the problem, He will once again fight for us, and no matter how insurmountable the problems seem, He will make a way where there is no way for us to overcome.

Yet, even now, how many have truly recognized the severity and urgency of the situation enough to put aside all that distracts in order to passionately pursue the Lord, diligently pray for our nation, and take the God-inspired action that He directs? Again, the question posed to us is how hot does The Refiner’s fire have to get before we will do so? If the things He’s been showing us are truly about to happen, I believe we will eventually be brought to our knees and will finally be ready to listen and act. But we pray it will not take those things to bring us to that point.

At the same time He has been continuing to give these sobering words concerning the nation, He has also continued repeating the words He gave us last year that He is about to do a NEW THING. He has been continuing to help us in the process of becoming the “new wineskins” He is calling us to be – emptied of self and ready to be wholly filled with Him and what He is about to pour out on His people who have been made ready. (link to parts 1-8 of Longer Version of Prophetic Word for the Church/Nation)

He is still emphasizing the need to crucify the flesh, consecrate ourselves, and seek and follow Him with all our hearts.

Collect your thoughts, yes, unbend yourselves [in submission and see if there is no sense of shame and no consciousness of sin left in you], O shameless nation! [The time for repentance is speeding by like chaff whirled before the wind!] Therefore consider, before God’s decree brings forth [the curse upon you], before the time [to repent] is gone like the drifting chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord comes upon you—yes, before the day of the wrath of the Lord comes upon you! Seek the Lord [inquire for Him, inquire of Him, and require Him as the foremost necessity of your life], all you humble of the land who have acted in compliance with His revealed will and have kept His commandments; seek righteousness, seek humility [inquire for them, require them as vital]. It may be you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger. Zephaniah 3:1-3 AMP

Again, whatever happens, He wants those who truly belong to and follow Him to know through every fiber of our being that nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:28-39). Though neither silver nor gold will be able to save from the Lord’s hand (Zephaniah 1:18), for those who have intimate relationship with Jesus as Lord and Savior, the Almighty is our gold and is faithful and able to take care of all our needs (Job 22:25). He wants us to remember that He is the same God who supernaturally provided for millions of His people in the wilderness for 40 years. We should have our faith built up through our intimate relationship with Him and His Word to experience His same miraculous power to deliver, protect, provide, and enable us to do continue to do His will to reach the lost.

Though He has spoken to us in terms of tearing down what He built and uprooting what He planted (our nation), we pray we still have time to avert the course we’re on before things get worse. In order for this to happen we must follow the Great Physician’s prescription for healing our land:

The Spirit of God came upon Azariah son of Oded. And he went out to meet Asa and said to him, Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: the Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him [inquiring for and of Him, craving Him as your soul’s first necessity], He will be found by you; but if you [become indifferent and] forsake Him, He will forsake you.Now for a long time Israel was without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law. But when they in their trouble turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and [in desperation earnestly] sought Him, He was found by them. And in those times there was no peace to him who went out nor to him who came in, but great and vexing afflictions and disturbances were upon all the inhabitants of the countries. Nation was broke in pieces against nation, and city against city, for God vexed and troubled them with all sorts of adversity. Be strong, therefore, and let not your hands be weak and slack, for your work shall be rewarded.

And when Asa heard these words, the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage and put away the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had taken in the hill country of Ephraim; and he repaired the altar [of burnt offering] of the Lord which was in front of the porch or vestibule [of the house] of the Lord.

And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin and the strangers with them …, for they came over to Asa out of Israel in large numbers when they saw that the Lord his God was with him. … And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, and to yearn for Him with all their heart’s desire and with all their soul; … They took an oath to the Lord with a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets, and with cornets. And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought Him [yearning for Him] with their whole desire, and He was found by them. And the Lord gave them rest and peace round about. II Chronicles 15:1-9, 12, 14-15 AMP

May we all be people after His own heart, who fully receive and carry out His heart, His passion, and His purpose as our own.

The First Law of satanism

(Posted to FB Dec 14, 12)

Earlier this year the Lord began to reveal where some of the teachings we had heard were coming from. He had already clearly showed their spiritual origin, but was now showing us some places where those beliefs were previously taught. First He showed us how some of the teachings were coming from the New Age movement (not New Age counterfeiting Biblical principles, but Christians embracing the New Age counterfeits). Next, He showed us even deeper into the abyss, revealing that some of the teachings were actually in the satanic bible.

The first law of satanism ~

“Do as thou wilt” (aka ~ “you’re free to live however you want”)

We saw an interview with the author of the satanic bible. He said this first principle from satanism is what makes a person a follower/disciple of satan ~ even if they would not call themselves by that name. He explained that participating in all the occult practices traditionally associated with satanism is not necessary. Rather, the foundational issue that makes a person a follower/disciple of satan is that they live by and pursue sensual and carnal desires and earthly pleasures (what the Bible calls walking after, living according to, being led by the flesh – Romans 6, Romans 8, Galatians 5, etc.). For this reason, he said there have always been those in Christian churches who wear the name Christian (believing themselves to be), but who in reality still belong to satan and are his disciples. In this video, a magazine was also quoted which said that it was terrifying that the principles of satanism are the principles which most people live by most of the time…without knowing it.

The devil is not confused about who still belongs to him and follows him, nor is God confused about this (I John 3:1-10). Those who claim to be worshipers/followers of satan also are not deceived about those who are truly Christians and those who are not. So why are many who claim to be worshipers/followers of Jesus so deceived about this issue? The Bible is crystal clear, but it must be read in context, fully, with a heart that has an unbiased love for truth and desires to be corrected in any area of error. We cannot pick passages we like, extract them from context, apply our own definitions and create theologies which ignore vast portions of Scripture to the contrary. As long as we study the Word to try to prove that what we already believe is right we will never be able to see clearly. But when we humbly, sincerely, and wholeheartedly seek the Lord for truth, crying out not to be deceived and not to deceive others, He will cause the deceptions and distortions that have blinded us to begin to be dismantled, the counterfeit gospels and counterfeit Christs to be exposed and shattered, and will cause us to behold the real Jesus and the truth of His Word.

When the enemy realizes you are breaking free from his false gospel of lawlessness, the battle will be on. But if you keep holding on to the Lord and His Word, wholeheartedly seeking truth, He will make the truth clear; and as you hold to/follow His truth you will truly be free. This is far too important of an issue to realize too late that you were deceived about (or deceived others about). Jesus said MANY will be turned away on the day of judgment who think they were saved because of this deception (Matthew 7:13-27). They will realize too late that they built their lives on sand rather than on the truth of His teachings. They called Him Lord, but practiced lawlessness (sin) instead of living under His Lordship. They did not truly know Him ~ the real Jesus. The “Jesus” they knew was another. Please don’t be deceived.

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” Galatians 5:16-25

“Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: “Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”  Ephesians 5:1-17    see also Colossians 3:1-10

See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.  Beloved, we are [even here and] now children of God, and it is not yet made clear what we will be [after His coming]. We know that when He comes and is revealed, we will [as His children] be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is [in all His glory]. And everyone who has this hope [confidently placed] in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure (holy, undefiled, guiltless). Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness [ignoring God’s law by action or neglect or by tolerating wrongdoing—being unrestrained by His commands and His will].  You know that He appeared [in visible form as a man] in order to take away sins; and in Him there is [absolutely] no sin [for He has neither the sin nature nor has He committed sin or acts worthy of blame]. No one who abides in Him [who remains united in fellowship with Him—deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin. No one who habitually sins has seen Him or known Him.  Little children (believers, dear ones), do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who practices righteousness [the one who strives to live a consistently honorable life—in private as well as in public—and to conform to God’s precepts] is righteous, just as He is righteous.  The one who practices sin [separating himself from God, and offending Him by acts of disobedience, indifference, or rebellion] is of the devil [and takes his inner character and moral values from him, not God]; for the devil has sinned and violated God’s law from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.  No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God’s seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again—who is reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him. By this the children of God and the children of the devil are clearly identified: anyone who does not practice righteousness [who does not seek God’s will in thought, action, and purpose] is not of God, nor is the one who does not [unselfishly] love his [believing] brother. I John 3:1-10

The Red Dragon (Revelation 12) and The Lion of Judah

Due to all the Lord started speaking to us about His soon return, the deception of lawlessness and great falling away of believers, etc. at the end of 2010-beginning of 2011, we’ve been praying that He would break open the seals on all revelation that we need in order to understand the times and know what to do (I Chron 12:32) ~ “LORD, Let the reader (seeker, hearer, seer, dreamer, pray-er, writer) UNDERSTAND!” (Mt 24:15). He has showed us some things that have been mind staggering ~ in a freaked out evil (at times mixed with sci-fi coming too close for comfort) kinda way. (Still seeking Him about these things.)

Earlier this Spring when He was calling us to speak again, He talked about the intense war we are in and brought to mind Revelation 12. I posted 12:17 a couple of times along with Revelation 17:14 because of this:

Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 12:17

They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.” Revelation 17:14

Last week I felt like the Lord was prompting me to read a note Robin Gatto had written about the Red Dragon. I did a search for those words on all 27 pages of her blog and only found one mention of it ~referring to the note she’d previously written, but the note was nowhere to be found. I didn’t know if she’d deleted it and I’d missed the Lord or what. Later, I felt like He told me it was on her FB page, not her blog. Found it. It had been posted back around the same time the Lord was reminding us of those passages in Revelation 12 and speaking to us about this critical time of spiritual war we’re in. Many think 12:7-9 is referring to a war that took place when Jesus defeated Satan; others have believed this described an event which would take place in the last of the last days. I’m not sure what Robin may have previously believed, but in this note she shared that she believed the Lord was showing her and confirming that this has happened NOW ~ that this war has just taken place in the heavens and the dragon (satan) and his demons have NOW been cast down from their position into the earth to make war against us (those who keep God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus v. 17), enraged because he knows his time is short (v.12).

And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. Revelation 12:7-9

Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.” Revelation 12:12

This does not diminish the truth that the church has been at war with him for more than 2000 years, but would only mean that we have gone to another level.

There were other confirmations mentioned in her post from what’s going on in society:

~ the new TV series “Hannibal” (as in Hannibal Lecter) based on the book The Red Dragon
~ that this is the year of the dragon in the Chinese calendar
~ and the Lord even led us to a link about the closing ceremonies of the Olympics that described occult symbolism in the ceremonies and showed the disturbing image of the huge red dragon (or phoenix) that rose up out of the fiery cauldron/sphere at the end of the closing ceremony. (Images of this from the closing ceremony can be seen online).

Interesting. Thought provoking. But we were still not entirely convinced that the Lord was confirming this has just now happened. Those of us who were watching 2012 to see how “God’s Divine Government” would be established/enforced should certainly be able to see how this would be a fulfillment of that (and a significant milestone toward the ultimate fulfillment). We asked the Lord if this is truly what He’s saying, to continue to confirm it.

Sunday morning, after the worship team dismissed, we arrived back in the auditorium just in time to hear our pastor open to Revelation 12 and read about the war in the heavens and the dragon and his demons losing their place and being cast into the earth! (He used this passage to make a different point, but we were in awe at the confirmation). I wrote a dear friend yesterday to tell her these things. She also responded in awe, saying that the pastor at the church she visited Sunday read and talked about the same chapter and passage!

If this is truly what the Lord is saying ~ What a dramatic explanation for why the world seems to be darker than ever, why so many have fallen into deception, and why the warfare has been so intensified against those who still hold to the Truth of God’s Word. The Lord has been telling us of the critical importance of continuing to stay as close to Him as possible, pressing in wholeheartedly, seeking Him diligently, and becoming as sensitive and yielded to Him as we can be. The church needs to have a heightened awareness, more than ever, of the tactics and schemes of the enemy to distract us, keep us from pressing into our relationship with the Lord, and to prevent us from completing what God has called us to do. In the past weeks as we’ve sought Him for how to proceed, He’s once again surrounded us with instruction to be rock solid, immoveable, unshakeable, determined, to set our faces like flint and keep moving forward to complete His call, not giving up or backing down. (As He put it,”The only way to lose is to quit.”). He showed us that at times, as we stand in faith for what He has promised, there is a period of obedience (to continue believing and faithfully doing what He has asked us to do) which must be completed in order for Him to bring judgment against the spiritual enemies of darkness that have warred against the fulfillment of our promises and assignments (Eph 6:12-13, II Cor 10:6). As we keep moving forward in obedience to God’s call, they will eventually be crushed under His feet and ours.

Again, God is still emphasizing repentance in the church (individually, corporately) and nation – that we must wholeheartedly return to Him, to Truth. The morning after the election He showed me a series of headings (which seemed to give an order of events). The second was “Judgment Not Postponed.” He had made clear that He was giving us a window of time to turn back to Him, thereby pushing back the judgment which is eventually inevitable in the earth, but this is not what our nation chose. I believe what is coming is to judge our idols, that they will be shaken and shattered so we will truly turn back to Him. He is continuing to stress the necessity of His Lordship in every area of the lives of all who claim to know Him. As we return to Him we must allow every agreement and alliance with the enemy to be severed, all idols exposed and evicted, all spiritual adultery with the world that has given the enemy invitation and access into God’s house (our lives) to be renounced/divorced, so that we wholeheartedly return to our exclusive marriage covenant with Him. There is no more time to give God a few hours on Sunday morning and the world the rest of the week. It’s time to be consecrated to Him and become the mighty army and holy, royal priesthood He’s called us to be 24/7/365. We must be made ready for what’s coming, including the end-times harvest and His return. In this time of intensified spiritual war and deception (and what’s about to come), if we try to live in compromise with the enemy, lukewarmness, one foot in the kingdom of darkness and one in the Kingdom of Light, we have stepped out of our secure place “in Him,” put ourselves in the “red dragon’s” territory, and are in great danger.

“… For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and Belial [the devil]? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? What agreement [can there be between] a temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in and with and among them and will walk in and with and among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. So, come out from among (them – from alliance with sin, lawlessness, darkness, Belial/satan, unbelievers, and idols), and separate (sever) yourselves from them, says the Lord, and touch not [any] unclean thing; then I will receive you kindly and treat you with favor, And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. Therefore, since these [great] promises are ours, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates and defiles body and spirit, and bring [our] consecration to completeness in the [reverential] fear of God.” II Corinthians 6:14 – 7:1

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” James 4:7-10 (verses 1-10)

“Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset—rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the dominion (power, authority, rule) forever and ever. Amen (so be it).” I Peter 5:6-11

As I believe the next to last heading I received in the series indicated, The King of Righteousness is soon to come!

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: King of kings and Lord of lords. Revelation 19:11-16

And the kingdoms of the world will become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever (Revelation 11:15).

No Time To Faint

(Posted to FB Nov 13, 12)

word from 11-10-12 ~ Last week as I was reading Jeremiah 45, I felt verses 4 and 5 were a word from the Lord ~

“I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the land. Should you then seek great things for yourself? Seek them not. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the Lord, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.”

These words had come back to mind several times since, including this morning (referring to Saturday) as Jesse and I were in different rooms seeking the Lord. So I continued to ask the Lord if this was truly a word from Him.

In the early afternoon, Jesse asked me if I wanted to hear what he got from the Lord that morning. He then read this to me from his journal:

“Today I read Jeremiah 45 – a short chapter, but one which bears some interesting encouragement. Baruch, who is Jeremiah’s scribe, has evidently been complaining about his workload. He had said, “Woe to me! The Lord has added sorrow to my pain; I am worn out with groaning and find no rest.” … it seems apparent that Baruch could use a little encouragement. God’s encouragement to him, though, is not exactly what I would have expected. If I were called upon to encourage someone in this situation, I would probably find out something about how long the project was expected to last and give some verbal encouragement by pointing out the distance covered or brevity of the remaining distance. But no, in this case, God informs him that his reward for his assignment is his very life. God says “I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the land. Should you then seek great things for yourself? Seek them not. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the Lord, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.”

I did not immediately recognize the chapter Jesse was reading as being the same one I had received, but when he got to verses 4-5 I gasped out loud. I told him I’d read the same passage last week and felt verses 4-5 were a word from the Lord. Now I knew the Lord was confirming this word. Jesse continued reading what he’d written,

“The part that is highlighted for me is where God says ‘Should you then seek great things for yourself?’ It sounds to me as if God is implying that Baruch is too concerned about what he’s having to endure to fulfill his task. God is correcting him for complaining about not getting rest and being worn out. He knows he needs to stay focused on finishing his assignment and that once this destruction occurs, concern for self could cause Baruch to lose focus on his purpose and be concerned with self-preservation. I think God wants him to understand better the gravity of what they are about to experience. In essence He is telling him, “Just be thankful you’ll still be alive after all is said and done!”

“Baruch was an essential part of the process of getting God’s word out through Jeremiah to those who needed to hear it, and having those words inscribed forever through the written word we have today. He likely did not realize the importance of his assigned task. We may have to suffer for a while in order to accomplish what God is purposing through us. But our job is to press through whatever circumstances arise that would attempt to distract us or deter us from the task at hand. If it was easy to do, then God could have asked any number of people to do it. But He assigned it to you because He knows that with His help, you have every tool needed to complete the task, remaining focused on His purposes, and ignoring whatever temporary discomfort may arise in the process. You may not even understand the severity or impact that your task will have on the future. But trust God to have your back and safeguard you while you finish His assignments. He’ll take care of the ‘rest.’

We knew this was a word from the Lord. It would be a gross understatement to say the past 2 years have been intense. And now that it’s been revealed that the urgency of the assignment is not going to lighten there has been a temptation to wonder what life will look like from here on and whether we will see the seasons of rest we’ve longed for this side of the Lord’s coming reign. But God has clearly told us “There is no time to faint!

As I prayed about posting this word, I believe the Lord spoke something else to me. He reminded me of the president’s words which outraged many ~ “You didn’t build that.” I felt He showed me this is, again, the natural mirroring what’s happening in the spiritual realm. After giving us warnings and time to repent, the election showed how many in our nation are still rejecting Him, His Word, His Truth, and our Christian foundations. In doing so, they are, in essence, saying to Him, “You didn’t build this (nation)!” Thus, the Lord’s response,”I will overthrow what I HAVE BUILT and uproot what I HAVE PLANTED….” He brought back to remembrance the word He gave me from Ezekiel 17 (“Two Eagles and a Vine“).

As I asked the Lord about the full implications of these words, He rushed in again Saturday and Sunday to give us more words of assurance of His faithful, loving, perfect watchfulness, care and provision for His children as we seek and follow Him. His people need this engraved in our hearts and minds no matter what happens in our circumstances.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lord, help us not to be weary in doing Your will, but to keep our eyes fixed on You and the joy set before us. Continue to strengthen us with Your power in our innermost being, causing Your iron to enter our souls, so we will endure hardship and warfare as good soldiers with boldness and courage, continually pushing back the kingdom of darkness and advancing Your Kingdom of Light. Help us have single-minded focus and commitment to train and run our race like professional athletes who will win the gold. Help us work wholeheartedly like farmers, as You’ve told us, to till the ground, plant and water the seed, and bring in the full harvest. Let every heart be made good soil that will receive and retain the seed of Your Word, that it will never be stolen, uprooted or choked out by the enemy, but will produce the hundred-fold harvest of righteousness in every life. May each one of Your children daily draw close to You, be daily filled with Your Spirit, and truly know You as much as You can be known this side of perfection. Let us be sensitive to Your voice at all times and hear with crystal clarity all You have specifically called and assigned us to do in this time. Help us be DOERS of what You say, not to be deceived by only hearing, but never following through. May every gifting, calling, anointing and appointment be activated, stirred up and on fire in each of us, and come forth in full measure that Your people may reach our full potential in You. We believe to see Your desire fulfilled that Your people will reach unity in the faith and attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Help us faithfully, fearlessly set our faces like flint and FINISH our assignments by the power of Your Spirit, no matter how challenging, no matter the risks or opposition, and no matter the time, effort or cost. No matter what happens, help us all be deeply and securely rooted and established in faith and trust in Your provision and care so we will never be shaken, even when all else is. Help us forget about ourselves and truly live out what Paul said that “it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” so we will be emptied of self, filled to overflowing with You, and completely consumed with You and Your will, fearlessly doing the great exploits You’ve called us to do. By You living in us and through us, help us leave NOTHING undone that You’ve told us to do, to possess the entire land, to finish the work You’ve given us, and to hear “Well done good and faithful servant (and beloved bride who has made herself ready)” when we see You face to face! We ask this in the Power of Jesus’ Name!
If the Salt Loses Its Saltiness
(Posted to FB Nov 6, 12)
One of the verses the Lord has given us repeatedly for the church since this Spring, regarding our need to speak His truth and stand against the destruction of our Christian foundation and heritage, has been ~
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.” Matthew 5:13
Today is crucial for revealing the condition of the salt of the church in our nation, and what will happen to us as a result of our condition. Part of our purpose as salt is to preserve God’s standard and prevent moral corruption and decay. We have a vitally important opportunity to be salt for the Lord in our society today by using our God given freedom, which was provided for us at a great cost to many, to cast a vote for the candidate who stands for ideals which can help our nation preserve its godly heritage and foundation and to help prevent us from further moral decay. By the grace of God, Romney can help preserve God’s definition of marriage, work with Christians against abortion, will not try to force Christians to support things which are against our faith, and will help heal the damage that has been done in our relationship with Israel. Our vote for the candidate whose vision is more in line with God’s standards is only one step in the church being salt and light to turn our nation back to God, but it is an essential one.
If we have lost our saltiness, Jesus says we will we be thrown out and trampled underfoot, or we will be salted with fire. (Mt 5:13, Mark 9:49)
I pray we all do our part today to be God’s salt in our society by casting our vote to preserve and protect our Christian values as a nation and to prevent further moral corruption and decay.
Exposing the Gospel of Lawlessness
(Posted to FB Nov 2, 12)
Telling those who profess to believe in Jesus, yet who live lifestyles of willful sin, that they are still saved as long as they haven’t purposefully renounced their faith in Jesus, is a message of counterfeit grace and of the false gospel of lawlessness which will cause many to be deceived into thinking they are saved while they are truly lost. Even if some teaching this are not living lifestyles of willful sin, the Lord wants us to understand that we will be held accountable for those who are deceived and lost through this false teaching. Much damage has been done by those assuring goats that they are sheep and tares that they are wheat.
The Lord gave me this verse twice yesterday, confirming again that it is not necessary for people to deny or renounce Him with their mouths; many deny and renounce Him by their actions, even while claiming to know Him.
They profess to know God [to recognize, perceive, and be acquainted with Him], but deny and disown and renounce Him by what they do; they are detestable and loathsome, unbelieving and disobedient and disloyal and rebellious, and [they are] unfit and worthless for good work (deed or enterprise) of any kind. Titus 1:16
He has made it very clear in His Word how we can know if we are truly remaining and abiding in Him (these are just a few).
“And this is how we may discern [daily, by experience] that we are coming to know Him [to perceive, recognize, understand, and become better acquainted with Him]: if we keep (bear in mind, observe, practice) His teachings (precepts, commandments). Whoever says, I know Him [I perceive, recognize, understand, and am acquainted with Him] but fails to keep and obey His commandments (teachings) is a liar, and the Truth is not in him. But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him: Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.” I John 2:3-6
“No one who abides in Him [who lives and remains in communion with and in obedience to Him—deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] commits (practices) sin. No one who [habitually] sins has either seen or known Him [recognized, perceived, or understood Him, or has had an experiential acquaintance with Him]. Boys (lads), let no one deceive and lead you astray. He who practices righteousness [who is upright, conforming to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action, living a consistently conscientious life] is righteous, even as He is righteous. [But] he who commits sin [who practices evildoing] is of the devil [takes his character from the evil one], for the devil has sinned (violated the divine law) from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done]. No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, for God’s nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God. By this it is made clear who take their nature from God and are His children and who take their nature from the devil and are his children: no one who does not practice righteousness [who does not conform to God’s will in purpose, thought, and action] is of God; neither is anyone who does not love his brother (his fellow believer in Christ).” I John 3:6-10 AMP –
Though the wording of the KJV has led to much misunderstanding and misinterpretation of these passages, the original Greek present active verb forms clearly supports this translation in the Amplified.
When we water down the definitions of “believe” and “faith” in Jesus to describe merely a mental ascent to who Jesus is and what He did for us, which does not produce the transformed life of a true follower of Christ, we teach people that they need have nothing more than the devil’s faith ~ he knew the truth about God but failed to follow Him (James 2:14-26). This is not God’s definition of saving faith in Jesus. Jesus made clear that it is not those who merely call Him Lord who are saved, but those who live under His Lordship, who do His Father’s will (Matthew 7:21-29, Matthew 5-7). We must understand and teach God’s definitions of believing in and receiving Jesus as our Lord and Savior or we will continue to propagate a demonic deception with horrifying eternal consequences for many. The love of God will cause us to tell people the truth while there is still time, even if it’s not what they want to hear.
Praying for us all!
Zeal for His House Still Consumes Him
(Posted to FB Oct 31, 12)
Another verse the Lord has showed us for the church in this hour is from Jeremiah 7:
“This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Stand at the gate of the Lord’s house and there proclaim this message:
“‘Hear the word of the Lord, all you people of Judah who come through these gates to worship the Lord. This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place. Do not trust in deceptive words and say, “This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord!” If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your forefathers for ever and ever. But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless.
“Will you steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, burn incense to Baal and follow other gods you have not known, And [then dare to] come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My Name, and say, [By the discharge of this religious formality] we are set free!—only to go on with this wickedness and these abominations? Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord.'” Jeremiah 7:1-11 NIV / AMP
Jesus referenced this passage when He cleared out the temple in Matthew 21, Mark 11, Luke 19. (He said to them, The Scripture says, My house shall be called a house of prayer; but you have made it a den of robbers.”) The account of this in John 2 shows that in His righteous jealousy for His Father’s house, Jesus drove out what was not supposed to be in the temple with a whip. …We are now His temple… (think about it ~ Heb 12:6 below) And zeal for His house still consumes Him (John 2:17).
You cannot drink the Lord’s cup and the demons’ cup. You cannot partake of the Lord’s table and the demons’ table. Shall we thus provoke the Lord to jealousy and anger and indignation? Are we stronger than He [that we should defy Him]?” I Corinthians 10:21-22
“For if we searchingly examined ourselves [detecting our shortcomings and recognizing our own condition], we should not be judged and penalty decreed [by the divine judgment]. But when we [fall short and] are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined and chastened, so that we may not [finally] be condemned [to eternal punishment along] with the world.” I Corinthians 11:31-32
“You have not yet struggled and fought agonizingly against sin, nor have you yet resisted and withstood to the point of pouring out your [own] blood. And have you [completely] forgotten the divine word of appeal and encouragement in which you are reasoned with and addressed as sons? My son, do not think lightly or scorn to submit to the correction and discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage and give up and faint when you are reproved or corrected by Him; For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes. You must submit to and endure [correction] for discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his father does not [thus] train and correct and discipline? Now if you are exempt from correction and left without discipline in which all [of God’s children] share, then you are illegitimate offspring and not true sons [at all].
“Moreover, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we yielded [to them] and respected [them for training us]. Shall we not much more cheerfully submit to the Father of spirits and so [truly] live? For [our earthly fathers] disciplined us for only a short period of time and chastised us as seemed proper and good to them; but He disciplines us for our certain good, that we may become sharers in His own holiness.
“For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems grievous and painful; but afterwards it yields a peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it [a harvest of fruit which consists in righteousness—in conformity to God’s will in purpose, thought, and action, resulting in right living and right standing with God]. So then, brace up and reinvigorate and set right your slackened and weakened and drooping hands and strengthen your feeble and palsied and tottering knees, And cut through and make firm and plain and smooth, straight paths for your feet [yes, make them safe and upright and happy paths that go in the right direction], so that the lame and halting [limbs] may not be put out of joint, but rather may be cured.” Hebrews 12:4-12
Overthrow the Enemy with the Breath of Your Mouth through the Power of the God-Breathed Word ~ part 3 ~ Word from the Lord 10-8-12
(Part 3 – continued from same day)
The Lord continued to confirm this message many more times throughout the rest of the week (too many words to share here), encouraging us not to give up, but to keep standing boldly ~ immoveable, unshakeable, unbreakable, unstoppable ~ declaring His Word and standing on His promises. As He’s reminded us repeatedly:
For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11 AMP
Even the new song they gave us in choir that Thursday to learn for Sunday was more prophetic confirmation. I confess, I wasn’t overly enamored with the entire tune initially (musically speaking), but the words of the song more than made up for it! LOVE IT!
Standing – William McDowell   (Lyrics)
The Lord even confirmed this song (and the message again) by playing the old hymn “Standing on the Promises” for Jesse.
The day I began to type this note, this was in Joyce’s devo:
“The devil does not want you to start anything of value—and if you do manage to get started, he does not want you to finish. He knows well his time on this earth is quickly running out. Accomplish great things in the name of Jesus and finish strong!” (Joyce 10-10-12)
That same morning I had listened to two of her past teachings (trying to catch up on ones I missed when they aired) which “just happened” to have the same theme!! This was more confirmation from the Lord not to faint, but to keep going all the way through with what He told us in order to possess the land! The enemy does know his time is short and his warfare against those who have remained faithful to the Lord has been intense.
...woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.  …the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 12:12b, 17
But we know the rest of the story!
They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers. Revelation 17:14
We pray that in this hour the warrior bride of Christ will stand strong on the Word and on the promises He has given us, rising up to strike the earth with the rod of our mouths and to overthrow and destroy the enemy (the  lawless one) with the breath of our lips by the power of the God-breathed Word.
   … [Abraham was appointed our father] in the sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed {the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. NIV}. [For Abraham, human reason for] hope being gone, hoped in faith that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been promised, So [numberless] shall your descendants be. He did not weaken in faith when he considered the [utter] impotence of his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or [when he considered] the barrenness of Sarah’s [deadened] womb. No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God, Fully satisfied and assured {FULLY PERSUADED} that God was able and mighty to keep His word and to do what He had promised. Romans 4:18-21 AMP
Is not My word like fire [that consumes all that cannot endure the test]? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [of most stubborn resistance]? Jeremiah 23:29
In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. Ephesians 6:10-13 AMP
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is GREATER than the one who is in the world.1 John 4:4
Overthrow the Enemy with the Breath of Your Mouth through the Power of the God-Breathed Word ~ part 2 ~ Word from the Lord 10-8-12
(Part 2 – continued from same day)
That afternoon, while I was seeking the Lord again, He also gave me a word from Sparkling Gems. This one was also about the power of the Word, specifically regarding the fact that the Word is God-breathed.
 “Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action)….” II Tim 3:16
This passage was particularly significant to me because it was a response to a specific question I had asked the Lord hours earlier, but in addition, He also showed me some common themes between this devo and the one He gave Jesse that morning (shared in part 1). Both discussed the inherent power in the Word and both talked about the exact same Greek word ~ the Greek word for BREATH. In this devo, Rick talked about the Word being God-BREATHED (and therefore containing God Himself and His power), whereas the one from that morning talked about the Lord overthrowing the enemy by the BREATH of His mouth and how we do the same when we speak His Word in faith. Both talked about the power of the Word to transform the situations we’re facing. Again, I believed the Lord was encouraging me that as we speak and declare His God-BREATHED Word we overthrow the enemy with the BREATH of our mouths (and HIS ~ releasing His God-BREATHED words with our own BREATH).
Later in the day, He gave me II Timothy 3:16 again. (more confirmation)
When we went to bed that night, Jesse read a few confessions for us (as usual) from my Healing Confessions Based on God’s Word  book (2008). I had not yet told him about all of these other words from the Lord throughout the day, so I was in awe when he opened the book and read:
I do not judge by what I see with my eyes or decide by what I hear with my ears. I live by Faith and not by sight. By the Spirit of Faith I believe and therefore speak. I strike the earth with the rod of my mouth, with the breath of my lips I destroy the works of the enemy. I will not lose my confidence and quit; I believe and RECEIVE! (Isaiah 11:3-4, II Corinthians 4:13; 5:7)”
He read only one more after this which was much more lengthy, again which had the theme of speaking God’s Word and standing on His promises. This confession ended with:
“I overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony.(Revelation 12:11)”
I knew immediately when he began reading the first one that the Lord was confirming this message to us AGAIN. When he then ended with Revelation 12:11, I was overwhelmed. It was such powerful confirmation that the Lord had spoken those verses (from Is 11 and Rev 12) to me earlier in the day as I thought and prayed about the devos He gave us from Rick and Ed. All these words in one day were undeniable confirmation to us that God was emphasizing that we must continue speaking the Word He told us to and continue standing in faith on the promises He has given us for our situations ~ striking the earth with the rod of our mouths, and overthrowing the enemy and his works with the breath of our lips ~ overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony! I knew He was again admonishing us not to grow weary and give up, but to “keep going,” “keep sowing,” “keep rowing,” “keep climbing,” “keep marching,” “keep speaking,” “keep moving forward” (as He’s continually been telling us) until we see the breakthrough of TOTAL VICTORY that He promised!
to be continued…
Overthrow the Enemy with the Breath of Your Mouth through the Power of the God-Breathed Word ~ part 1 ~ Word from the Lord 10-8-12
Last Monday morning (10-8-12), as Jesse sought the Lord, in addition to his time in the Word, the Lord gave him a word from Sparkling Gems from the Greek (by Rick Renner). The word was centered around II Thessalonians 2:8
“And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.” II Thessalonians 2:8
From this passage, Rick talked about how when the Lord comes, He will destroy the enemy (the lawless one) with the breath of His mouth, and how we are now also able to overthrow the enemy in our situations by the breath of our mouths (by speaking God’s Word). When Jesse showed me the devo, of course it jumped out to me that it was about II Thessalonians 2, since that has been one of the major chapters for us in the past 2 years due to all the Lord has spoken to us. But, in addition, the Lord brought to my remembrance Isaiah 11:3-4 and Revelation 12:11 from the point Rick made.
And there shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse [David’s father], and a Branch out of his roots shall grow and bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord— And shall make Him of quick understanding, and His delight shall be in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness and justice shall He judge the poor and decide with fairness for the meek, the poor, and the downtrodden of the earth; and He shall smite the earth and the oppressor with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Isaiah 11:1-4
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony….” Revelation 12:11
Years ago the Lord had spoken to me through Isaiah 11 that we too are empowered, through Him living in us, to strike the earth with the rod of our mouths and destroy the enemy and his works with the breath of our lips by speaking God’s Word. He does not want us to judge what is happening in our circumstances by what we see with our eyes or hear with our ears; we walk by faith and not by sight. We must stand on what God has told us and overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. So the Lord encouraged me through these additional confirmations of what Rick was saying.
Later that morning, as I was catching up on e-mails I’d missed while we were on our trip the previous week, I saw this one from Ed Traut:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“The man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.” 2 Kings 13:19 NIV

•        In prayer, and often spiritual battle, attitude plays a paramount part in the outcome and success.
•        Let us not get less than total success because we are not aggressive or believing enough for a breakthrough.
•        Even when the promise or prophecy does not encourage us in a certain attitude, it is up to us, to walk by faith and obedience.

Prayer: Mighty God, I trust You and expect complete victory and blessing.  Help me to maintain the right attitude and faith! (Copyright, Prophetic Life Ministries)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Lord had already brought this passage from II Kings to my remembrance a few times recently. And again, I believe He connected this passage from II Kings with the verse from Isaiah 11:3-4 about striking the earth with the rod of our mouths (by declaring God’s Word). I believed the Lord was encouraging me that we must continue to strike the earth with the rod of our mouths (declaring the Word He told us to speak, and standing on the promises He’s given us in relentless faith) as many times as necessary until we see the TOTAL, COMPLETE VICTORY He’s promised. We must not do this in faith only a few times and stop prematurely. He does not want us to lose our harvest through impatience and discouragement, as He’s told us over and over in the past months (and at least two more times in the days I was writing this note):
“And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.” Galatians 6:9
Even if at times we must keep pressing through pain in faith to do what the Lord has told us to do:
“Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.” Psalm 126:5-6
