Watching Over You

FB post from May 13:

Blown Blown Blown away at the speed confirmations are coming!!
Last night, as we were going to bed, the Lord gave us a word all about how He’s WATCHING OVER US. This morning, while listening to praise music for a few minutes – the lyrics of one song stood out and I noticed they were singing about Him WATCHING OVER US. Then we put on a T.D. Jakes sermon, and he also talked about God WATCHING OVER US. Then Mark Terry sent me an email from another prophetic minister [Lana Vawser] all about God WATCHING OVER US, centered around this verse:

“Jehovah Himself will WATCH OVER YOU, He’s always at Your side to shelter you safely in His presence. He’s protecting you from all danger both day and night. He will keep you from every form of evil or calamity as He continually WATCHES OVER YOU. You will be guarded by God Himself. You will be safe when you leave your home, and safely you will return. He will protect you now, and He’ll protect you forevermore.” – Psalm 121 – The Passion Translation

Right after I responded to Mark in absolute awe of so many confirmations so quickly, I opened my email devo from Prophetic Life Ministry [Ed Traut] and it was about the same thing!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
His Eyes Are On You!
Psalm 33:18 But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, NIV
[He’s also been emphasizing His never-failing love regardless of what attacks we’re facing the past several weeks – NOTHING can separate us from His love!]
“…God responds to our constant regard and reverence for Him by being WATCHFUL OVER US.”…
“How I praise You today, because Your love does not fail and in all these years You’ve WATCHED OVER ME. I thank You for it. NO MATTER WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH NOW, I WILL LOOK TO YOU AND TRUST YOU. [Trust has also been a major theme of this season]. I PRAISE YOUR HOLY NAME. Amen.” [and you know PRAISING Him amid the attacks has been]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Both Lana’s word and Ed’s word featured Jesus as the LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH!!!!!! Lana talked about how He’s sneaking up behind the enemy as he’s plotting against us – and He’s getting ready to POUNCE on him and destroy his plans. And Ed’s devo featured this picture (at top of page)!!!!!!!! What an Awesome image of the One who is Watching Over Us and SHIELDING US [another recent theme again] from the plots and attacks of the enemy!!! Thank you Lord!!!

UPDATE:

More confirmation from today’s (5-15-15) JHM Scripture reading email:
Lord God, now I ask that You bless and keep them; that You make Your face to shine upon them that Your goodness and Your mercy and Your favor shower them today. Let them know, that this week, they are grafted into the everlasting, almighty Vine of the Son of the living God and that You, Jehovah, are WATCHING OVER THEM; that You care for them; and that their potential is unlimited so long as they are abiding in You. Lord, I ask that this blessing become a reality in their lives; that the fruit it produces would bring glory to God our Father in heaven. In Jesus’ name, we pray and ask.

Free Your Mind

Rather than free your mind, this post might actually twist it into a pretzel without an understanding of the principles Jesus taught that enable us to overcome the natural realm and walk in the matrix - red pillsupernatural as He did. You may need to revisit the original Matrix movie for the full effect, but for now I’ll just forewarn as Morpheus did ~ by proceeding you are choosing to take the “red pill.” 😉

Two weeks before this latest storm hit, I had been meditating on these confessions from my healing book:

  • “I refuse to conform to the pattern of this world – to live by or under this world’s system. I am TRANSFORMED by the renewing of my mind to the Truth of God’s Word. Therefore, I know God’s good, pleasing and perfect will – and conform to the pattern of Heaven –God’s system. (Romans 12:2)”

As I meditate on a Scripture or confession, God will connect it to other verses and analogies to help it become greater heart revelation. For this passage, He again brought to mind all the spiritual lessons so powerfully illustrated in The Matrix, as well as Colossians 2:20 (NIV’84) and II Peter 1:3-4. So as I meditated I wrote,

“If you want TRANSFORMATION, you must RENEW YOUR MIND. I am transformed into who God called and created me to be (and into one who walks in His covenant promises) by renewing my mind to the truth (of His Word). I refuse to conform to the pattern of this world – to be bound by its natural laws and basic principles. I refuse to conform to the illusions of “the matrix,” (to believe the physical world that’s been pulled over our eyes MORE THAN I believe the truth of God’s Word/promises). I am transformed into one who participates in God’s divine nature (and escapes the corruption/curse that’s in the world through sin) by renewing my mind to the knowledge of God and His great and precious promises. When I am transformed, I don’t just mentally know God’s perfect will, I experientially know, prove, and make manifest God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will in my life (and conform to the pattern of Heaven).” (Romans 12:2, Colossians 2:20 (NIV’84) and II Peter 1:3-4)”

I continued with this:

  • “I will not set my mind on (think on, be controlled and dominated by) the things of the flesh (the symptoms, circumstances, giants, opposition). I set my mind on (think on, and am controlled and dominated by) the things of the Spirit (the truth of God’s Word – His promises – who He says I am, and what He says He’s purchased for me) – which produces LIFE and PEACE (peace = wholeness; nothing missing, nothing broken, all necessary good) (Romans 8:6 Greek)”

Under this confession I wrote, “Change your focus. Change your perspective. Focus on the truth of God’s Word and promises, not on the (symptoms, circumstances, giants). I do not focus on the giants and see myself as a grasshopper (hopeless, helpless) in their sight. I focus on God, His Word/promises and see the giants as the grasshoppers. They are NO MATCH for our God. They have no power/authority in comparison to His blood, His Name, His Word, and His Spirit.”

God brought many more confirmations during this time of changing our FOCUS and PERSPECTIVE, including the things mentioned in this post on 3-9 (for those who didn’t see it on FB). He continued to emphasize choosing to think on and be dominated by the truths of the spiritual realm/the Word/Heaven. And again, He connected the principles in these confessions to the spiritual neo-stops-the-bulletslessons of the Matrix. Like Neo, to overcome the natural laws/basic principles of this world so we can walk in the supernatural laws of God’s Kingdom that trump them (as Jesus did), we have to realize that this world and what we perceive with our senses is not the highest reality. Neo had to renew his mind to the truth that the greater reality was that he was seated outside the matrix and that his position there made the matrix subject to him, instead of him being subject to it. We too must renew our minds to the superior reality that we are in this world, but no longer of it. We are citizens of Heaven, seated with Christ in Heavenly places. Because of our position in Him, who has already overcome this world, we too are able to overcome it ~ to do the SAME things He did and even GREATER things, as He promised (John 14, Mark 11, etc.). The natural laws of this world must bow to the supernatural laws of the Kingdom of Heaven. We are not to be subject to them; they are to be subject to us through Christ. As discussed in previous posts, by staying in agreement with the TRUTH of the superior spiritual realm (the truth of God’s Word/promises), we can TRUMP and TRANSFORM the facts of this natural realm.

The following week, I meditated on this confession:

“Jesus redeemed me from the curse of the law (in Deuteronomy 28 that includes EVERY sickness and disease) and He purchased the blessing and promises of the righteous, through His perfection, for all who receive Him as Lord and Savior. Jesus was MADE MY SIN; I was MADE HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. As I abide in Christ, I am clothed with Him and His righteousness. Therefore, I RECEIVE THE BLESSINGS OF THE RIGHTEOUS by faith in what Jesus accomplished for me. I walk in the light with the Lord, confessing my sins and turning from them to follow Him, and His blood continually cleanses me from all sin. Therefore, THE CURSE HAS NO RIGHT TO COME UPON ME. (Deuteronomy 7:12-15; Deut 28, John 15, I John 1-3, II Corinthians 5:21, Galatians 3:13-14, 22-23, 26-29)”

Once again, God was bringing awesome confirmations, as He always does, to help make His Word heart revelation instead of just mental information. But immediately afterward, this new attack hit – and there’s no better way to describe it than “the curse.” A few days later, the Lord said, “You ARE REDEEMED from the curse – but the enemy will try to challenge that.” He reminded us that this is why we must stand against him (resist him) and declare the truth even when it doesn’t appear that it’s true or that His promises are working. It was a perfect illustration of the parable of the Sower (Matthew 13, Mark 4, Luke 8). Since the enemy wasn’t able to steal the truth I was sowing in my heart through lack of understanding or unbelief, he came with an overt attack to try to uproot it. But, when he attempts to exalt himself and his lies above the knowledge of God’s truth, we must take them captive, cast them down, and bring them into obedience to Christ and His Word (II Corinthians 10:3-5). We must resist him until he flees (James 4:7)

A few days later (3-16), we noticed a theme emerging in the words God gave. First through Ivan Tait’s book:

But my God shall supply ALL YOUR NEED ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS! Philippians 4:19
(God had been surrounding us with this verse – which we were claiming and applying not merely for financial needs, as we may often apply it, but for any need we may have – for wisdom, understanding, direction, counsel, revelation, protection, healing, deliverance, etc. )
…WHEN YOU WERE IN YOUR MOTHER’S WOMB, I APPOINTED YOU AS AN AMBASSADOR…. Don’t limit your potential by obsessing over your limitations. Limitations are the opportunities for my grace. They are the diving board into the supernatural power of My Spirit. … YOUR RESOURCES INCLUDE ALL OF ME, NOT JUST A PIECE. Men insult Me by making Me powerless in their doctrines and beliefs. THEY FORGET THAT SOME THINGS REQUIRE SUPERNATURAL RESOURCES in famine and drought. Know this: I measure the heavens with a span. I name the stars, and I know the number of hairs on your head. The nations are like a drop in the bucket, and the oceans are one tear drop. I AM your Resource. I AM All in All. I AM your SOURCE. I AM ALL YOU NEED, ALL YOU WILL EVER NEED, and I AM ALL YOURS.”

We were thankful for more confirmation of God’s supernatural provision for our needs, and of Him as our All in All. Next, Jesse opened to read from the healing book and read:
“I am not of this world. I am a citizen of Heaven. I am separated (sanctified) from this world’s system by my knowledge of TRUTH. God’s Word is that Truth. I am not under the basic principles of this world; I am under the principles of the Kingdom of Heaven. I am in this world as an AMBASSADOR of Heaven, to advance God’s kingdom here. As an ambassador, I am governed by the laws of my home country, rather than the country where I live. Sickness and disease have no legal right to come on the citizens of Heaven; THE CURSE HAS NO RIGHT TO COME ON THE RIGHTEOUS. Therefore, I plead diplomatic immunity from sickness and disease and EVICT it from my life! God has seated me with Christ in Heavenly realms. Just as All things are under His feet, since I am in Him, All things are under my feet! Jesus has overcome this world, and I overcome this world by faith in Him. The One who is in me is GREATER than the one who is in the world! (John 17:14-18, Philippians 3:20, Galatians 4:3-5, Colossians 2:6-10, 20; II Corinthians 5:16-21, Mark 16:15-18, Luke 10:19-20, Ephesians 1:17-23; 2:4-7, Genesis 1:26, Psalm 8:3-6, Hebrews 2:5-9, I Corinthians 15:24-28, John 16:33, I John 5:4-5; 4:4)”

I noticed both words emphasized the revelation of being His Ambassadors, and the implications thereof. But even without that clue that God was SPEAKING, I knew this was truly a word from Him. Though I was praying silently before Jesse opened the healing book, in my heart I was crying out at the top of my spiritual lungs for God to speak the exact word I most needed to be standing on to receive the manifestation of victory. When I heard this word, I knew He was answering my cry! (Apart from all the obvious confirmations of the confessions I’d been meditating on in the previous few weeks, it was also significant that it specifically said to “EVICT” the enemy, since this was the precise thing we’d been speaking and praying. “GREATER is He who is IN ME” had also been one of the recurring words God had given from the beginning of this battle.)

The following morning (3-17), the Lord was up to His old tricks again, blowing us away with His ability to orchestrate the confirmations we need to hear. We decided to listen to a Paula White podcast during breakfast. Since we hadn’t listened regularly, we played an older one (#54) rather than the most recent. It was packed with precise confirmations for us, but one of them was the beyond-the-shadow-of-a-doubt confirmation that God is always so faithful to provide. Nestled in this message on Winning in Life was another word about being AMBASSADORS ~ who aren’t bound by the basic principles/natural laws of this world.

WOW!!!!!! Since I wanted to record this clip for my journal, after the sermon, I went back to find it in the hour long message. Asking the Lord to help, I “randomly” clicked play and the first words I heard were, “You are not BOUND by the laws of nature!” We hear you, Lord!

Right after sharing a brief version of these things with a friend, I was spending time with the Lord and asked Him for a word. The word He gave said,”Remind yourself that the treasures of Heaven are all yours. I’m training your soul to reign. I’m showing you how to live a life with me seated in Heavenly places, where corrupters can’t reach you and where your treasures are safe. …” This series of words is why I was about to take flight when I read in Lana Vawser’s post, “Look away from the natural realm and look through the lenses of Heaven.” (again – changing our perspective to see things from our position of being seated in Christ in Heavenly places ~ where all things are under His feet and therefore under ours.)

I pray these truths will truly sink in and become heart revelation for us all so we will overcome the natural laws of this world to do the same things Jesus did and even greater things! I pray we will all “free our minds” with His help, by renewing them to His Word, so we’re no longer bound to the natural laws of “the matrix,” but are transformed into those who participate in His divine nature and overcome the natural to do the impossible! Lord, help us grasp, believe, and walk in the full dimensions of these truths ~ with no more limitations based on the natural world around us!Free Your Mind

The night after writing this, I was praying about whether to share. When I sat down with my Scripture cards, these notes from a KCM devo were on the first cards I read:

“The blessing of Abraham will enable you to prosper, no matter what’s happening around you. It will cause you to (walk in God’s covenant promises) no matter what the devil can dream up. …If you’re born again, you shouldn’t even worry about such things. They don’t have to affect you. You’re not dependent on this natural realm. You are dependent on your covenant with Almighty God—and that never changes! He never alters the Word that comes out of His mouth, and He has said you are blessed! You were re-created to live above the circumstances of this world—not in subjection to them. Stand up! Release your faith! Put the Word first place in your life. Put your name in the promises of the Bible and speak them to your circumstances. The truth is, they (your circumstances) can’t stop the blessings of Almighty God!”

THANK YOU JESUS!! I’m taking that confirmation to be His green light to share and I’m praying we’re all going to the highest dimensions possible in operating in these things with the help of the Lord!

UPDATE:
The Lord tore us up with confirmation of this in TD Jakes msg on 5-31-15! This one is a tad bit longer than the clips I usually put in (just over 5 minutes), but it’s so worth it! He not only gave confirmations of “The MATRIX” revelation above, but also from things discussed previously in Formed in the Secret Place pt 2  and  pt 4, and
The Unseen/Invisible/Eternal has the Power to TRUMP and TRANSFORM the Seen/Visible/Temporary‏. He also confirmed our recent theme of CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE from the note by that name, Letting the Storm Send You DEEPER and HIGHER (and woven throughout other notes in this season)! AND he focused on the revelation, ” I am who God says I am. I have what God says I have. I can do what God says I can do” included in “Don’t Panic, Praise“!

Passing the “Though He Slay Me” Test

Toward the beginning of this insane storm (mentioned in previous posts), I saw several words from others about receiving breakthrough “THIS WEEK.”
Past experience had taught me not to latch on to this kind of word without asking the Lord to make sure it was truly a promise He was giving me, lest I suffer hope deferred and disillusioning feelings of faith-failure. Yet, I’d been meditating on the truth that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8) ~ which has historically translated to us that since He’s with us and in us, we should always be able to receive instantly in certain areas (as people did when He was here in the flesh). And I’d also been meditating on receiving according to our faith (Matt.9:29). So, armed with these promises, I was expectant that God was going to assure me that, OF COURSE I could receive my breakthrough THAT WEEK, if I would fear not and only believe (Luke 8:50). Still, in order to be fully persuaded for the fight of faith that would follow, I asked Him to confirm.

But rather than surrounding me with the confirmations I desired and expected, each time I asked, He responded with words about “patience,” “perseverance,” “long-suffering,” “endurance,” and  “waiting on Him.” Among them was ~

Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord. Psalm 27:14

He assured me that I can believe and receive anything He’s promised in His Word, but that I need to trust Him to fulfill it in His way and time. At first I was troubled by these responses. So I continued asking, not convinced this was truly His answer. When these responses continued, I was no longer troubled……I was in despair. After all, this was no ordinary storm; it was like a nightmare from which I could not awake.

That night when we went to bed, the pages Jesse read from our healing confessions book were all about God’s extravagant love for us. But since God just told us He was not delivering us OUT of this traumatic storm, but taking us THROUGH it, every word Jesse read was instantly challenged by another voice assailing my mind. “Love? How could a loving Father leave you one moment longer in this kind of trauma? That’s not any kind of love I know of!” Jesse soon turned out the light and within moments was fast asleep; but I had been transported to a battlefield ~ in a full-scale war in my mind. The thoughts attempting to accuse and sow offense in my heart toward God eventually crescendoed to a horrifying invitation to “Curse God and die” (which is truly no option; the devil always overplays his hand).

job-13_15With tears streaming down my face, by the grace of God I realized I could no longer listen to such vile thoughts. It was past time to cast them down and bring them into obedience to Christ (II Cor 10:3-5). In that critical moment, the Holy Spirit brought words to my remembrance, so I opened my mouth and whispered to my invisible adversary, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15). Instantly, my heart was flooded with very different thoughts ~ thoughts telling me that if God was leaving us in this storm longer, I must choose to trust that He loves us and knows something GREATER is going to be gained by going THROUGH the storm that would not be achieved if we were delivered OUT of it immediately. I must choose to believe that He has our BEST at heart and He will work all things together for our good (Rom 8:28-30).

The next day the Lord graciously poured out a deluge of words to dismantle the lies the enemy tried to hiss in my ears the night before. As I sat down with the stack of Scripture cards I’d been working my way through, He reemphasized many of the precise Scriptures Jesse had just read the night before about His love. He surrounded me with the truth that He is FOR US and that nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:31-39). And He gave us a powerful word based on II Corinthians 1:8-10.

The word He gave from this passage reassured us that He truly did understand how traumatizing and distressing this situation was and promised us His supernatural intervention and deliverance. He trust Gods characteralso began to confirm the things I felt He’d spoken to my heart in that critical moment ~ that He was working all things together for our good and that when He tells us to wait for His deliverance to manifest, it’s because He has a HIGHER and GREATER purpose in mind that can only be achieved through the process of walking out our victory in faith and patience. His ways truly are still higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts (even those who have been born again) (Isaiah 55:8-9). Though we can learn His ways and thoughts as we seek Him to know the mind of the Spirit (the mind of Christ He’s given us access to – I Cor 2:6-16), that wisdom and understanding doesn’t always come instantly or automatically (James 1:5-8). He counseled us not to use our finite minds to challenge His infinite wisdom and said when we don’t yet understand His ways, we must trust His character; when we can’t yet discern His purpose, we must trust His love (Part of that purpose later revealed in Surviving the Last Days). He promised that we were not permanently stationed in this predicament, but just passing through (“this too shall pass”) and that His appointed time for breakthrough would be perfect. Though I heard all He was saying, that didn’t mean I was happy about it…

A couple of days later, the very moment after I sent a message to some friends about the excruciating events described above, I opened the John Hagee devo for the day and was overwhelmed to see:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Job 13:15—Though he slay me, yet will I trust him.
… Isaiah 50:10 is a verse that confuses a lot of Christians.  It says, “Who is among you that fears the Lord, that obeys the voice of his servant, [yet] walks in darkness, and has no light?  Let him trust in the name of the Lord, and rely upon his God.” Note that it is referring to believers, those who fear the Lord and obey his voice.  Yet it says this person is walking in darkness.  This is not the darkness of sin, but the darkness of suffering and trouble.
In the real world, good people suffer.  How do you handle suffering?  With one of your quick-fix faith formulas?  Sooner or later, you’ll experience something for which you have no theological answer. You’ll find the answer in the book of Job, but most Christians don’t like to read that book. There are actually two books of Job: the one written by the charismatic convention and the one written by the Holy Spirit. I believe the one written by the Holy Spirit. … Job lost his wealth, his health and his children. His wife said, Curse God and die.  But he wouldn’t. Job did not know that God had removed the hedge of protection from him and that this was a test so severe that men would look back for centuries and say, “THIS IS WHAT GOD’S GRACE CAN HELP YOU ENDURE.”
What do you do when the light goes out?  Look at the last verse of Psalm 27:  “Wait on the Lord:  be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord” (verse 14). You may be so discouraged and depressed, so frazzled and frustrated that quitting looks good. Don’t do it! “Wait on the Lord:  be of good courage.”  God is too wise to make a mistake and too loving to be unkind. The Holy Spirit will renew you, refresh you, restore you and re-fire you so you can shine, shine, shine. (copyright © John Hagee ministries)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I saw this, I knew beyond all doubt that the battle a few nights before had not just been with my own heart/mind. It was truly a showdown with the devil (as in the Anatomy of Deception) who was presenting me with the same test he’d given Job in his moment of crisis. Suddenly the Lord reminded me that at the beginning of this storm, He’d given us many words about Jesus’ 40 days of testing in the wilderness as well as an entire series of words from I Corinthians 10:13 ~ surrounding His promise to never allow us to be tempted beyond what we could bear. We had been praying over those words ~ asking the Lord to help us recognize and pass every test and recognize and overcome every temptation we were facing. But we didn’t realize He was alerting us that we’d entered a season of testing. It was not until I saw this undeniable confirmation of my experience and the Lord reminded me of the words He’d given to prepare us, that I realized I’d just been through what was surely one of the major tests we must pass in the wilderness of temptation. I was so incredibly grateful to the Holy Spirit for bringing Job’s words to mind in that crucial moment to help me pass the test. Though I do not claim blamelessness, as God spoke of Job, nor suffering on his same level, his life and trial became a recurring theme in what God has spoken to us throughout this battle.

The confirmation of Psalm 27 here also continued to be a recurring theme. But these weren’t the kinds of confirmations that make someone jump and shout with ecstatic praise. Instead, they were causing a gut-wrenching theological train wreck. (I’ll share more about that later, but lest anyone draw wrong conclusions in the meantime ~ when God tells us we have to surrender to going THROUGH a trial rather than being immediately delivered OUT of it, we must not conclude that He wants us to “embrace” and “surrender to” any demonic attacks from the pit of hell. If He takes us through a trial, He desires (in part) for us to become STRONGER through the process of fighting the good fight of faith to OVERCOME ~ as described in Change Your Perspective).

The Lord had revealed that part of the enemy’s purpose through these attacks was to uproot the truths I’d been meditating on afresh (as mentioned in “Free Your Mind“), God’s promises regarding our calling, and to block us from moving forward in our assignment (I Cor 16:9). This second strategy of the enemy that Jesus exposed in the parable of the Sower shows that God will allow the Word He’s given us to be tested and tried. The goal of the enemy in this stage is to cause us to become offended and turn away from God (aka “curse God and die”) due to troubles, afflictions, and trials.

As for what was sown on thin (rocky) soil, this is he who hears the Word and at once welcomes and accepts it with joy;  Yet it has no real root in him, but is temporary (inconstant, lasts but a little while); and when affliction or trouble or persecution comes on account of the Word, at once he is caused to stumble [he is repelled and begins to distrust and desert Him Whom he ought to trust and obey] and he falls away. (Matthew 13:20-21) (see also Mark 4:17 and Luke 8:13)

We see this tactic against Job as well. In the “Though He Slay Me” test, the enemy challenges our motivation for why we serve God and tests our level of commitment to Him. Do we love, serve, and worship Him only because of His blessings and benefits. Do we love Him for who He is and all He’s already done for us through Christ or is our love dependent on what He’s doing for us now? Will we be offended and accept the enemy’s invitation to turn away or to “curse God and die” if He seems to be doing something or allowing something we don’t like or understand (for more on this see “No Sacrifice, No Victory” pt 2). When Job lost everything, he fell on the ground and worshiped (Job 1:20). Wow! No wonder the Lord has been emphasizing the importance of praising Him in the midst of the storm (see Don’t Panic; Praise). If the enemy’s goal is to cause us to curse God, there’s no better way to respond in the opposite spirit than to praise God.

praise in storm

We pray all going through this test will dive deeper into the revelation of God’s unfailing love and of trusting Him (His heart, His character) even when we don’t understand His purpose ~ knowing He always has our BEST at heart and is working all things together even better than they could have been otherwise. We pray all will continue to love, serve, and worship God for who He is, regardless of the tests or trials that come. We pray all will hold fast to God’s promise of double restoration (double for your trouble – even as Job received when the test was over), will pass every test, overcome each temptation, and come forth as gold in the power of the Spirit to possess the land! May we always do the opposite of what the enemy wants. Instead of allowing his attacks to cause us to become offended and turn away from God, let’s allow them to turn us to God and His Word all the more, so instead of being uprooted, we become more deeply rooted than we’ve ever been (as discussed in “Letting the Storm Send us Deeper and Higher“).

But He knows the way that I take [He has concern for it, appreciates, and pays attention to it]. When He has tried me, I shall come forth as refined gold [pure and luminous]. Job 23:10

[As] an example of suffering and ill-treatment together with patience, brethren, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord [as His messengers]. 11 You know how we call those blessed who were steadfast [who endured]. You have heard of the endurance of Job, and you have seen the Lord’s [purpose and how He richly blessed him in the] end, inasmuch as the Lord is full of pity and compassion and tenderness and mercy. James 5:10-11

May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance. II Thessalonians 3:5job_23-10_1

Update 8/25/15:
God’s at it again! Made the blog above available publicly on Saturday (8/22/15). Monday (8/24) we listened to the sermon from TDJ’s church from Sunday (8/23) and were once again amazed by the precise confirmations. Here are a couple of clips with some of the confirmations we received from the guest speaker Joyce Rodgers (just included those pertaining to this message – times of testing, I Corinthians 10:13, trusting God when you can’t trace Him, and THOUGH HE SLAY ME)!

God continues to blow us away week after week with confirmations from there, regardless of who’s speaking! He actually also used Joyce about 3 wks ago to bring a funny confirmation of our “movie word from the Lord” for that weekend (the first time we heard her speak at TPH). We’d just watched a film that weekend called “Jack the Giant Slayer”(continuing the giant slaying theme for this season); so we knew the Lord was speaking when the guest for Sunday introduced herself as “Joyce the Giant Slayer” and encouraged us all to insert our names and begin calling ourselves “Giant Slayers” as well! 😀 Praying for all to pass the tests, being fully persuaded that God will bring His Word to pass for us through faith and patience,
Laura the “Giant Slayer”

The Answer

In retrospect, it might not be the best thing to receive such an amazing confirmation at 3 a.m. It tends to make it all the more difficult to get back to sleep. But, on the other hand, when you’re up at 3:00 a.m. battling your “storm” and asking the Lord for another word of encouragement, maybe it is the best moment to receive such a powerful word from Him.

I’ve been praying about which message to share next. There have been so many awesome confirmations of the last post that I want to share at some point for those who aren’t connected to me on FB or haven’t seen them when I’ve shared them there. But this past weekend I was debating about whether to share some of the words from the beginning of the storm, or the series about “The Answer”God gave toward the end of April, or about two of the tests He’s given us in this season that we likely must all pass on the way to our promised land. The confirmation I received at 3 a.m. this morning settled the matter. Some of you may have seen these posts the week before last on FB, but I’m sharing all 3 here for those who didn’t – with the latest confirmation at the end.

Post from April 22 ~ (When I tried to paste the link it inserted the post! Cool! That’s new!)

from April 23 (my 29th spiritual birthday! 🙂  Click “See More” to read the whole post. If it doesn’t work for you, comment and let me know and I’ll paste the text immediately below each post) ~

[I included the “nothing is impossible” theme with the Jesus is the SAME and is the ANSWER themes, since God had also been heavily reemphasizing this truth to us during this time, as mentioned in Don’t Panic, Praise]

And April 24 (Again, click “See More” ~ and rather than clicking on the link in the post to hear the mp3, I’ve embedded it immediately below so you can listen here) ~

Jesus is the SAME yesterday, TODAY, and forever
He’s the ANSWER to EVERY need
ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE
Only Believe

So… in the early hours when I was up battling my storm, I was getting ready to get my Scripture cards, but was sidetracked by a thought. My friend Tamra had recently urged me to check out the page of a prophetic minister from Australia, saying that her posts were quite often echoing the things I was hearing from the Lord and vice versa. I hadn’t had a chance to do so since she told me, so I took this opportunity to visit her page. I immediately saw what Tamra meant! Here’s the word she had posted yesterday!

by Lana Vawser (As usual, my comments are in purple)

“We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. (He is the Pioneer and Perfecter of faith) – Hebrews 12:2 (The Passion Translation) [had just been meditating on this verse Saturday in my Scripture cards]

In this birthing season I saw a moulding taking place in the hearts of the people of God. I saw the beautiful hands of God stretching and moulding the people of God, and in the process I saw faith being perfected.

“In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, you have been distressed by various trials so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honour at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:8) [Since He’s given this verse so many times through this latest attack, my ears were really perked at this point.]

In the trials many have faced and are facing, faith is being tested and tried by fire. The Lord is strengthening, building and extending the faith of His people. He is increasing faith in the lives of His people as they walk through the “process”. Through embracing the process the Lord is building a faith that will not be shaken. It is a faith that endures. A faith that lasts, a faith that is anchored in Him alone. [Will share more about the major confirmation of “enduring faith” in subsequent post, but wanted to point out what she says about being “ANCHORED” in Him ~ the precise thing He told me at the beginning of this storm ~ as shared in “Don’t Panic, Praise“!!!]

The Lord is raising up His people with greater faith to believe to see the impossibilities in their own lives and the world BOW to the name of Jesus.

As He is extending, increasing and perfecting the faith of His people I saw Him hand them “glasses” (like reading glasses) and He said “As you look at all things, look at it through these lenses”. As the people of God put on these lenses no matter where they looked they saw JESUS, they saw Him as the answer and faith was increasing. The impossibilities may be screaming at you and closing in on you, but look through the lenses of faith and see HIM. For Jesus is revealing Himself more and more in the lives and circumstances of His people, manifesting Himself as THE ANSWER! [At this point I was once again overwhelmed with God’s confirmations!!]

As you go deeper in INTIMACY with HIM, He is opening your eyes and heart to greater revelation that He is your ALL SUFFICIENCY. [Yes!! We’ve been praying this for ALL as the result of these latest attacks ~ for each one to come to know Him as our ALL IN ALL!] Your journey of late as you press into and partner with Him is perfecting your faith to believe for greater things.

IT IS MIRACLE TIME!!!!
I saw a HUGE HUGE gate flying WIDE open and there was a beautiful land opening up before the people of God. Rolling hills, with so many beautiful colours. Light bursting forth everywhere. Everywhere I looked I saw LIFE and things ALIVE and THRIVING. [I felt this was connected to the I Corinthians 16:9 reference in the last blog – the “‘WIDE’ door of opportunity” to the promised land the Lord is opening, that the adversary has (or many adversaries have) been trying to block us from entering.]

I heard the Lord say:
“I am perfecting your faith that is opening the gate to the miraculous. IT IS MIRACLE TIME!!!! You have endured the climb and continued to activate your faith and now you are being promoted into greater realms of seeing the miraculous displayed.”

The fire has been hot, and the journey has been long, and the process has been difficult. The trials have been intense, but you have been moving through the birthing canal and now out into MIRACULOUS DEMONSTRATIONS OF LIFE!

I saw miracle after miracle erupting around the people of God and springing forth. Miracles in health, in finances, in conception for babies, in relationships, in open doors, in situations that were upside-down suddenly turning around. The Lord is releasing life in “dead end” places. [The miraculous breakthroughs the Lord’s been promising – as shared in the last post!]

Many who have almost given up on believing for their miracle because of the darkness that continues to linger, and the thought has started to plague you “It is never going to happen”, you are stepping into MIRACLE TIME. He has been building enduring faith in you. Do not give up right before breakthrough. [Yes, the serpent’s temptations to give up have come through more unveiled and ungodly lies than ever before ~ more on that in subsequent post.]

You will move forward in power, strength and endurance as you look to Him the pioneer and perfecter of your faith. Look away from the natural realm and look through the lenses of heaven. Your faith is being perfected and extended. See Him in all your circumstances, He is your SUFFICIENCY. [This underlined part nearly also had me taking flight ~ more about that later as well.]

It’s time to declare.. “I AM FULL OF FAITH!!!!” He is perfecting your faith that is opening the gate to a new realm of the miraculous displayed!!!!! It’s miracle time!!!!

GLORY TO GOD! WE receive it! Thank you Jesus!

Praying for us all to endure through the process, pass every test, overcome every temptation, obstacle, and attack, and come forth as GOLD in the POWER of the Spirit to possess our promised land! Remember:

Jesus is the SAME yesterday, TODAY, and forever
He’s the ANSWER to EVERY need
ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

Don’t Panic, Praise ~ Cheer up; Fear not; Only Believe

Sorry it’s been so long since the last post. Shortly after taking another significant step toward fulfilling our new assignment, we were hit with an insane attack that we’ve been battling the past 7 weeks. We believe the Lord’s been showing us it’s the adversary blocking the door of opportunity He’s set before us (I Corinthians 16:9). I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise that the enemy doesn’t roll out the red carpet to cheer us on to victory, but will fight us each step of the way. As they say, “new level, new devil.” Thankfully, God prepared us before this attack began by taking us back to the “Slaying the Giants and Possessing the Land” series to remind us of those lessons. He wanted us to know before the battle began that we already have the victory.

I’ve had a number of messages lining up to share from what He’s been ministering to us through this time. I’ve just been trying to find time to finish them. Instead of going in chronological order, I’ll start with this series of words from last Sunday that I shared with a few family and friends Monday. Since it was also an encouragement to several of them, I wanted to pass it along to you as well. God’s been revealing that many are also facing severe attacks right now and feel the enemy has backed them into a corner, so I hope this message strengthens you as you continue to overcome.

From the beginning of the battle (even before it began), God was already giving me the Scriptures I needed to stand on to overcome. So I’d been fighting with the promises He’d given and speaking/prophesying to the mountain. But a few weeks ago He began to also surround me with reminders to praise and thank Him in the midst of the situation. He reminded me that He has ordained praise to be strength for us, to silence the foe and avenger, and that since He inhabits our praises, it ushers His manifest presence into our circumstance (Psalm 8:2, Matthew 21:16, Psalm 22:23). When I saw this devo last Sunday morning, I knew He was continuing with this theme:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
April 19Be of Good Cheer
Kenneth Copeland
And now I exhort you to be of good cheer. Acts 27:22
What do you do when you’re in a really perilous situation?
If you’re like I used to be, you cry out to God in desperation. One afternoon when I was squalling to God about something, He interrupted me and said, Kenneth, … I hear the desperation cry of a sinner because that’s all he can cry about. But once you get born again, son, you ought to be crying out of faith. I hear the faith cry.
What is a faith cry? It’s calling things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17). It’s what the Bible means when it says, “…Let the weak say, I am strong” (Joel 3:10).
The Apostle Paul knew how to use the faith cry. That’s why, in Acts 27, he exhorted the men on that battered, sinking ship to “be of good cheer.” (This was because he had received a word from God about the situation.). He was telling them to start acting by faith. Can’t you imagine what those sailors thought when he said that? Listen to that stupid preacher. We’re sinking and he says be of good cheer. We’ve thrown everything we have overboard and he says be of good cheer.
You may feel just like those sailors did, right now. You may feel like your ship’s going down. You may feel like crying out in desperation. But don’t do it. Instead, do what Paul said and be of good cheer! Cry out to God in faith and say, “Lord, I’m not going to panic. I’m not going to despair. I’m going to be of good cheer because Your Word says You’ll deliver me from this situation” (Psalm 34:19). Then start being cheerful. It may take more determination than anything you’ve ever done before, but God will give you the strength to do it. He’ll give you the power to be cheerful in the middle of the most ungodly darkness the devil can bring up. Instead of crying out in desperation, take a faith stand. Sing and rejoice and praise God for your deliverance. Be of good cheer and you can be sure God will bring you through the storm just fine!
Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:4-9
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This additional encouragement to praise was powerful since from the beginning, God had referred to this situation as a storm. From one of the first nights, when I was near panic, He began surrounding me with the reminder that He has not given me a spirit of fear, but of POWER, LOVE, and a SOUND MIND. He said He did not want me to panic (which seems to be a temptation with every new severe attack), but that He wanted to be my Anchor to hold me steady, stable, and secure through it.

What Kenneth said about the cry of faith vs. the cry of desperation also confirmed things I’d just been rereading that week (from my Scripture cards of things God spoke to me in 2013) about praying in faith and not in fear. (It also brought to mind the powerful lessons He taught through ~ God Cannot Forget You)

Later that day, we decided to read the next chapters of a book we’d been reading together very sporadically, (Spirit of Faith – which I’d read years earlier, but Jesse hadn’t). We “just happened” to be ready for chapters 9 and 10. In chapter 9 Mark Hankins told about going coyote hunting and how the coyote call sounded like a wounded rabbit:

“We never got a coyote that day, but I learned a valuable lesson. The Lord began to talk to me about faith. Many people, even Spirit-filled Christians, are continually whining and speaking defeat and depression, calling the coyote of failure. Their wounded rabbit call attracts the devil, and he comes to devour them for lunch! …We have many wounded rabbits in the church who need to change their sound.  (The devil) must get you to agree with doubt and fear before he can harm you. AGREE WITH GOD. Faith agrees with God and shuts the door on the evil. By changing your sound to a bold declaration of who you are in Christ Jesus, you will begin to attract the blessings of God in greater measure. … A good place to start is Philemon 6 – that the communication of your faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. … We need to acknowledge our identification with Christ by boldly saying, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear…,” Hebrews 13:6. I am who God says I am. I have what God says I have. I can do what God says I can do. We will no longer speak the cry of defeat, fear, and doubt – but by acknowledging our identification with Christ, we will begin making the sounds of victory, health, prosperity, and blessing.

I knew God was confirming what Kenneth talked about that morning, since he also talked about changing your sound – from a cry of desperation to a cry of faith – including declarations of God’s Word, praise, and thanksgiving. As we continued to chapter 10 we were amazed by more precise confirmation from what He’d spoken through Kenneth.

“The spirit of faith works by believing and speaking. … In other words for faith to work properly, it must be in your heart and in your mouth (Romans 10:8-10; Mark 11:23). The word spoken to you must be spoken through you. The spirit of faith does not guarantee that you won’t have any storms in life. The storms of life come to everyone. However, the spirit of faith is what enables you to face the storms and overcome. The Apostle Paul illustrated this while at sea in the middle of a life threatening storm. …Be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. ~ Acts 27:25 (precise confirmation of example used in kcm devo!!)

The spirit of faith will put you over. In the middle of trouble, Paul said, “Cheer up, everyone! I believe God!” One person with the spirit of faith can change the destinies of many others. Paul said, “It shall be even as it was told me.” God’s Word is the foundation for our faith. …What does the Word say? What has God spoken to you? Believe it and say it. It will put you over. It will take you through the storms of life and enable you to finish your course.”

We were once again in awe of God’s orchestration to lead us to pick up that book we hadn’t read from in months and that we “just happened” to be ready for chapters that had precise confirmations of what He’d just ministered to us that morning! Though God does this for us continually, we never cease to be overwhelmed and in awe of Him.

Some of the other confirmations in those chapters of themes God’s also been emphasizing were: (Quotes and paraphrases)

Fear not, believe only ~ Luke 8:50 (Which went along with the verse God gave me the day before – If you believe, you will see the glory of God. John 11:40) There will be a fight in your worst circumstances. There will be a moment when you have to choose to either be full of fear or believe God. Jesus grabbed Jairus in the middle of his crisis and gave him a word. Jesus will give you a word in the middle of your crisis, too. He interrupts what others are telling us and the doubts and fears flooding our minds to give us a word from heaven. …You don’t have to change the whole situation; you just have to do your part – fear not–only believe. If you can stay in faith, Jesus will come to your house.… There is a fight of faith necessary to lay hold on the blessings of God. Get a grip on the spirit of faith and keep it.

(There were also confirmations from the series of words I was meditating on the day before from my Scripture cards about doing/receiving the impossible.)

“If you can believe; all things are possible to the one who believes.” Mark 9:23

“Faith is unlimited. The spirit of faith takes the limits off God. …The spirit of faith believes and speaks the unlimited possibilities of God “For with God, nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37 …The spirit of faith will POSITION YOU to receive God’s best blessings.” (He’s been answering our prayers about how to be “properly positioned” through a number of words – but being properly positioned in FAITH has been one of the consistent answers He’s given to that question.)

 “According to your faith be it unto you.” ~ Matthew 9:29  (2nd time I’d seen that verse that day)

 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind” ~ II Tim 1:7 (recurring theme since one of the first nights of this battle)

He talked about having to get radical b/c you’re fighting a spirit (fear). You must resist it – speak to it, take authority over it, and confess the word of God that contradicts the lies fear brings. Faith in God is faith in His Word. Believe God, Believe the Word, and Speak with the voice of faith. Your faith is voice-activated. The Word of God breaks the spirit of fear. Faith comes by hearing and hearing (continuously, repetitively) the Word.

Since Mark talked about needing to know what God said to you for your situation, as we went to bed that night I was asking Him to continue to speak very clearly about that. I had the Scriptures He’d given me for this battle, but needed continued encouragement since failure to see breakthrough thus far was beginning to make the situation appear impossible – and that it would now take a miracle for it to happen. As I prayed, God gave Jesse this word from Ivan Tait’s book. (This was one He gave us/confirmed in an amazing way last year, as shared in Part 7 of Hold Fast Your Profession, so it was already very special to us.)

He did not weaken in faith when he considered the [utter] impotence of his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or [when he considered] the barrenness of Sarah’s [deadened] womb. Romans 4:19

ABRAHAM DID NOT WEAKEN IN FAITH as he considered (the “impossible” looking circumstances). DO NOT CAVE IN! Today, REACH into Me! REACH into My strength! STRETCH YOURSELF into the storehouse of My FAITH. I AM NOT MOVED BY THE CIRCUMSTANCE YOU ARE IN; I DECIDE WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU, AND MY DECISION FOR YOU IS MIRACLE BREAKTHROUGH. WHATEVER APPEARS IMPOSSIBLE, I WILL BRING INTO REALITY. PROCLAIM YOUR VICTORY NOW! …

Thank you Jesus! The next morning we listened to TDJ’s service from Sunday and to a Joyce teaching (whom we hadn’t listened to for months and were just starting to try to catch up). The guest speaker at TDJ told a story that illustrated how we have to put our FAITH IN OUR MOUTH (speaking, declaring, proclaiming the Word in faith). He also talked about PRAISE being our WEAPON. We hear you God! Afterward, when we listened to Joyce’s message, we were in awe when she also talked about PRAISE being our WEAPON, thanksgiving being a weapon, and the WORD of God being our Weapon.

The confirmations of purposefully CHEERING UP and praising instead of panicking in the midst of tribulation and storms because we believe God’s promises have continued this week, but this is already too long to share more. 😀 Praying for all of us to overcome every attack and obstacle in the power of Christ, and that in that process we will make sure we change our sound from panic to praise, from prayers of fear, cries of desperation, or declarations of worry, complaint, or defeat to prayers, cries, and declarations of faith. Let’s not only be speaking and prophesying God’s Word to our situation, but remembering to continually thank and praise Him in the midst of the storm ~ not only for all He’s already done, but for all we know He will do based on His promises. Cheer up; fear not; only believe.
Blessings and Prayers,
Laura

Change Your Perspective

FB post from 3-9:

So many jaw dropping confirmations again in yesterday’s sermon! Wanted to share at least one small portion that I hope will bless others…
Saturday, I “just happened” to meditate on/confess these things from one of our plethora of pages of confessions:
“We do not look at the size of the giants (obstacles, symptoms, challenges, opposition) and compare ourselves to them, feeling like grasshoppers in their sight who can’t overcome; we look at the size of our GOD. We compare the giants to HIM and realize they are grasshoppers in His sight. They don’t have a chance. Their protection has been CUT OFF, but God is WITH US to cause us to inherit the land He has promised. Therefore, we are WELL ABLE to defeat all opposition, overcome every obstacle and hindrance, and take possession of all God has promised.

We remain calm, confident, and collected when confronted with challenges, knowing that as we move in faith to do what the Lord tells us to we will find a way to overtake the enemy and defeat him.

We CHANGE OUR PERSPECTIVE toward challenges in life – the GIANTS ARE OUR BREAD! Our battle with them will only serve to make us Stronger. God is making us into the WARRIORS He has called and destined us to be – who KNOW the VICTORY is already ours before the battle even begins. He is turning every area of spiritual weakness into supernatural FORTITUDE. He is making us spiritually TOUGH – causing His IRON to enter our souls – causing us to be made of STEEL. We are His IRON PILLARS – immovable, unbreakable, unshakeable and unstoppable. We win the battle first in our hearts and minds, knowing we are the ones who are still standing on the other side in VICTORY and the enemy is completely crushed under our feet.”

The next day our pastor preached on CHANGING OUR PERSPECTIVE toward our problems and challenges in life – recognizing that they serve to make us stronger and help us go to the next level!! We hear you Lord!!

For anyone who needs more encouragement along these lines, reposting the links to the notes from last year that emphasize these things!

Don’t Miss Your Miracle

Since the leap of faith the Lord called us to last year, we’ve reminded Him often that we’re free falling and need to know where to land. But He just kept telling us to fly and soar into our destiny. (??) We thought after we took the leap in obedience some obvious door would open or clear path would be revealed, but instead the Lord had surrounded us with words to “get moving,” “take action now,” and “make it happen.” When we expressed our confusion over these kinds of instructions and why things weren’t unfolding as we expected, He replied, Blessed is he (she) who is not offended because of Me. (Matthew 11:6, Luke 7:23)

As we kept asking HOW to fulfill those instructions, He seemed to be confirming that He was asking us to do something quite risky, unfamiliar, uncomfortable, and scary. Not convinced, we continued seeking and seeking… and seeking to be sure. But during this past month of pressing in even more intensely, the Lord finally told us, “I’ve already told you what to do. The problem is that you’re just as afraid of the solution as you are of the problem.” To illustrate, He gave the example of it being as though we’re in a high-rise building that’s on fire. He’s down below saying – “JUMP!” – and we’re standing on the ledge saying, “…Is there another option!?!?” He showed us we were continuing to seek because we’re hoping He’s going to give us a less frightening instruction than the one He’s already given. But there’s not much time to continue deliberating. The fire is closing in. If we stay put, we’ll “die.” If we jump, at least we have the chance to survive. There’s no option but to “jump or die.”

The next day, He confirmed this message again by giving the analogy of a mother eagle when she begins to stir her nest to provoke her eaglets to get out of the nest and fly. After she removes all theEagles-Nest-building-3-9-047-1280x854 comfortable padding so the prickly branches are exposed, making the nest so uncomfortable that the eaglet can no longer rest there, the eaglet crawls out onto the high ledge. As it peers out over the expanse of sky, it doesn’t know how to go forward, yet it knows it can’t go back. There’s no option but to “fly or die.” We were in awe at this immediate confirmation.

Just over a week later (1-25), one of the many confirmations that wowed us was when our pastor talked about times that God will put you in a position where you have NO OPTION but to “win or die.” We knew He was continuing to confirm. When God puts you in this position, you can’t just stick your toe in the water to see if it parts ~ having to “jump,” “fly,” “win,” or “die” implies total commitment. RISK

In wrestling with the idea, we had presented some practical reasons why the risky instruction might not truly be “wisdom” from the Lord, but He kept responding to this with the account of feeding of the 5,000 (which He’d been giving ever since He first called us to the leap of faith). Though of course He emphasized the obvious message ~ that when we give him the little we have, He’s able to miraculously multiply it to feed the masses ~ He also kept stressing how He had used that situation to TEST Philip’s faith (John 6:6). When Jesus presented Philip with the problem of finding food for the enormous crowd, Philip immediately began racking his brain for a natural solution that left him believing the task was impossible, instead of looking to Jesus for a supernatural solution, knowing all things are possible for those who believe. It’s easy for us to shake our heads at Philip’s lack of faith, but we must remember he had never seen Jesus’ ability in this kind of situation before. He didn’t have the advantage that we do of knowing the second half of the story. In the same way, the Lord wants us to stop limiting Him to natural solutions and believe Him for the supernatural. He’s urging us to just do whatever He’s asking us to do ~ and trust Him with the second half of the story. We don’t have to have His part figured out in order to do our part.

Seeing we still needed further convincing, He also surrounded us with the account of Naaman (II Kings 5). Through this He warned us NOT TO MISS OUR MIRACLE because His instruction didn’t make sense to us and wasn’t something we particularly wanted to do. He reminded us how Naaman got offended when the instruction Elisha gave him to receive his healing was not what he expected. Like Naaman, we were being faced with the opportunity to be offended that it wasn’t happening like we thought it would or as we preferred it to. And like Naaman’s servant, the Lord was also urging us not to just walk away and not even TRY, lest we miss our miracle.

He drove this point home again last week by giving us the same message through a different account. This time He used the example of the disciples after their long, fruitless night of fishing (Luke 5). Finally back to shore, they were cleaning their nets and preparing to go home, doubtless exhausted in ways that were deeper than mere physical weariness, when Jesus showed up and told them to LAUNCH OUT into the DEEP and cast their nets again. (Wha ?) Like Naaman, these men had the opportunity to reject this instruction and miss their miracle. They could have reasoned that it didn’t make any sense. After all, they’d already been fishing during prime hours, employing all their expertise and tricks of the trade; clearly nothing was biting. They could have decided they were just too tired to try again. But in spite of the objections they initially presented, they ultimately responded as we must all learn to respond when the Lord tells us to do something contrary to what we want, think, or feel ~ “…But because You say so, I will…” (“…Nevertheless, at Your word I will…”).

Several months ago, while still trying to discern what God was saying, we’d been thrown into confusion by some words He’d given us about pride and humility. I promptly misinterpreted them as a warning NOT to do the “crazy,” risky thing we’d been thinking He told us to do, assuming in my natural reasoning that He was exposing that doing so would be pride (or at least perceived as pride) and that there must be a more humble path to take. But as we continued crying out for understanding about why He kept speaking to us about pride, yet at the same time still also seemed to keep confirming to do the risky thing, He reminded us that PRIDE DISOBEYS ~ HUMILITY OBEYS. Like Naaman and like Jesus’ first disciples, He was wanting us to HUMBLE OURSELVES and OBEY – to submit to His instructions – regardless of whether it makes sense or seems like a good plan – regardless of whether it’s something we’re comfortable or familiar with – regardless of whether we feel sufficiently prepared or qualified – regardless of whether we’re afraid or intimidated – regardless of whether it’s something we really want to do. No matter what our litany of reasons and excuses may be, when He asks us to do something, He wants us to TRUST and OBEY.

eagleWhen Naaman surrendered and obeyed he was completely healed and restored. When the disciples surrendered and obeyed, leaving the shallow water behind to stretch themselves further than they’d been before, they received their net-breaking, boat-sinking provision. When Jesus surrendered and obeyed He made the way for multitudes to be eternally saved…. Let’s not miss finding out what miracles are waiting for us on the other side of following God’s instructions. When the eaglet dove off the ledge, it learned it had the potential to fly all along. Let’s discover the potential we have that we’ve never used. Let’s fly and not die. Let’s not end up with the pain of wondering what would have happened “if,” or the pain of seeing someone else step into our place who was willing and obedient to do the thing we failed to do.

At our worship pastor’s wife’s request, I attempted to share a brief version of this yesterday morning with the worship team, but when we heard this additional confirmation this morning, I knew this word was supposed to be shared with others too. Listen to this short but powerful confirmation (from TD Jake’s message yesterday 2-1-15 ~ JUST DO IT!):

I pray that none of us will miss our miracle(s) by failing to humble ourselves and submit to whatever God is asking us to do – no matter how great or small. The only thing that stands between us and victory is doing what God says. So let’s…Just do it!

“Whatever He says to you, do it.” John 2:5

Update 2-3-15 Just in case we didn’t get it before – God has once again gone for that dimension of confirmation that takes us beyond all shadow of doubt ~ causing us to become FULLY PERSUADED! He has just officially FLOORED us (literally) with His orchestration of confirmations. Over the weekend, we were praying about which cd series to listen to next and decided to start a series by Paula White about destiny. We listened to part 1 Saturday, but didn’t get to part 2 till today. This CD series was made in the Spring of 2013 ~ we purchased it Fall of 2014 (having no clue what was in it) ~ but God orchestrated for us to hear this clip from part 2 TODAY, the day after the astounding confirmation from TD Jakes above! Once again He has overwhelmed us with Unmistakeable, Undeniable, Inescapable Confirmation!!! ONLY GOD!

“Can you hear me now?” ~ God  😉

“Kill” It Before It Kills You

As I sat down to breakfast last Sunday, Jesse began excitedly sharing something he’d been reading which had fascinated him. A few moments in, after seeing the look on my face, he realized this was not a mealtime conversation and mercifully decided to enlighten me later. He waited till that evening, when he had the additional audience of his sister’s family in Oklahoma, to bring it up again. Permit me to momentarily gross you out.

The article he’d read, advertised on the front cover of National Geographic as “Real Zombies: The Strange Science of the Living Dead,” highlighted a variety of parasites and their freakish and frightening life cycle. Jesse began by sharing about a worm who grows inside land-dwelling crickets. When the worm is ready for his next phase of life (which is aquatic), he infects the brain of his host in order to alter its normal behavior. The cricket is suddenly compelled to take a suicidal plunge into water, where the parasite makes his escape. Next he told of a lady bug who becomes infected with wasp larvae. Though the lady bug still appears well on the outside, on the inside it’s being devoured. When the wasp is ready for its next stage of development, it exits the lady bug’s abdomen, but builds a cocoon underneath. The ladybug, whose brain has been infected so that its behavior is under the influence of the parasite, will now act as a bodyguard for the wasp, fighting off anything that would threaten to kill it. When the wasp is finished with its ladybug shield, the ladybug typically dies.

Though I informed Jesse that the danger this time was not that I would lose my appetite and be unable to eat, but rather that what I had eaten would be resurrected, he persisted undeterred.

Lastly, he shared about a flatworm who takes up residence in a certain kind of fish. When the worm is ready for its next stage of development, which must occur in the belly of a bird, the parasite infects the brain of the fish to cause it to come under its control. The fish, who normally swims deep, begins to swim at the surface, though this is contrary to its nature. It will even swim upside down, attracting birds with its shiny belly and making itself more vulnerable as prey. The infected fish are then consumed by unwitting birds, who then become the host for the worm’s next stage of life.

By the time he finished the last account, I was crying out for deliverance from this onslaught of nausea-inducing nature news ~ pleading to know if there was a point to all this. At long last, though there were more examples to share, the torturous tales ceased and our conversation turned a different direction. (For the full account see National Geographic, November 2014, Meet Nature’s Nightmare Mindsuckers by Carl Zimmer.) Yet, I was still troubled. After all, God’s creation is normally one of the ways I delight in Him. His creation usually reveals things to me about HIM, but I could not see Him in these accounts AT ALL. “God, Why? Why would you create something so vile?” I consoled myself with the thought that these parasites could not have been His original creation, but were a result of the fall.

The next morning, I awoke with our final conversation of the evening still on my mind. We’d been discussing much of the church’s failure to minister to those lost in or struggling with homosexual thought/behavior. One who had expressed compassion also commented on his difficulty understanding how anyone can be drawn to that particular sin. Though I could relate to his sentiments, remembering how the Lord had effectively exposed and explained the process of being led into any sin to us, I simply responded “they’re deceived.” As soon as the words left my mouth, I reflected on them with dissatisfaction. If I’d had the assurance that there was already a shared understanding of the things discussed in The Anatomy of Deception notes, this answer would have been sufficient. But apart from that, this reply seemed quite inadequate. True as it may be, since the only reason any of us do anything that’s not God’s will is because we are, at a core level, deceived, it needed further explanation for anyone not familiar with the concepts in those notes.

So upon waking the next morning, my mind instantly returned to my desire to find a better way to communicate all that’s encapsulated in saying, “they’re deceived.” As I expressed this to the Lord, He immediately replied, “Their brains have been infected.” As soon as He said it, the accounts Jesse shared the night before came flooding back and the revelation began to explode. The Lord brought to my attention that in each instance, Jesse said the parasite had “infected the brain” of its host. The result was that the host began doing things that were completely contrary to nature, behaving in ways opposed to how it was created. These behaviors, inspired and driven by the infecting influence of the parasite (in order to serve its purposes), were self-destructive to the host and eventually resulted in death. Yet, in some of the examples he shared, even though the host was being destroyed, it was so influenced by the parasite’s desires that it would fight off anything that tried to kill its killer.

I was in absolute awe at this revelation the Lord was so rapidly unpacking just moments after waking. Suddenly, I realized what He’d wanted to communicate to us through these parasitic parables. It’s no wonder it disgusts us and grosses us out; God’s giving us a picture in the natural realm of what happens in the spiritual realm when people become hosts for demons. When we fail to realize the truths shared in The Anatomy of Deception notes, fail to discern the source behind the thoughts that come to us, and fail to judge those thoughts by the standard of truth in God’s Word, we are certain to believe and act upon demonic lies. By yielding to those demonic lies and suggestions, we further open up our lives to their influence and presence. Instead of resisting them until they flee, when we receive them, entertain them, and yield to them, we become their host (inviting them in). (Remember, we get full of whatever spirit we yield to – see Are You “Full of It”?) Once people Evil-Demons-Demonic-Influenced-Demons-Control-the-Mind-of-Manbecome a host to demonic spirits, these spirits “infect” their brain. Apart from enforcing the delivering principles and power of Jesus’ Name, blood, and Word, soon, driven by what will serve the demons’ purposes, people begin thinking things and doing things that are completely contrary to nature, to their true identity of how God created them to be. Though they may eventually want to be free, they may feel as though they’re no longer in control, but are controlled (possessed) by another’s will. Yet even if they’re aware that their thoughts and behaviors are self-destructive and will eventually result in death (and the death of God’s destiny for their lives), they may still fight off anything that attempts to deliver them. Due to the demons’ mind-infecting, behavior-altering influence, they may find themselves protecting and defending the very thing that’s killing them.

When I realized what the Lord was after, I wanted to read the whole article. Though the author unfortunately seeks to find an evolutionary explanation, there were still plenty of spiritual parallels to be found. Astonishingly, considering the original connection God made between parasitic possession and the demonic influence at the root of homosexual thought and behavior, the article also highlighted a parasite that causes the males of a particular species to become feminized – demonstrating and confirming God’s original application of this spiritual message from nature even more directly. Yet clearly, He didn’t intend for us to make such a narrow application from these accounts. These powerful analogies can be applied to any area where we have invited the enemy into our thinking, believing, and behaving by repeatedly yielding to his influence. (I also marveled at the continued confirmation God gave of the messages of INVERSION and REVERSION– through the example of the fish, under the influence of the parasites, swimming upside down!) The article repeatedly referred to the parasites’ ability to “compel the hosts to do their bidding,” as their “puppet master,” and of the hosts “service to their parasite overlord.” “They serve their parasite, even if they must hurl themselves to their own death to do so.” (quotes from Carl Zimmer) We see the tragic results of the spiritual parallel to this natural phenomenon all around us in this world every day.

While this undoubtedly applies to more obvious sins that people have opened up their lives to, such as the example God initially gave, if we attempt to exempt ourselves by applying it only to “big” sins that we’re not bound by, we will miss the power of what He’s trying to show us for our own breakthrough and deliverance this year. He’s asking each of us to examine our lives and allow Him to help us identify every wrong attitude, mindset, belief system, way of thinking, speaking, and behaving that’s been inspired by any source other than Him and His Word. As illustrated by the things He showed us in the Anatomy of Deception, the analogy of the parasites also highlights the critical truth that whatever those things are, they’re not from you! As long as we embrace the thoughts, Kronkfeelings, attitudes, and actions that come to us through another source (the enemy) as being our own, as just who we are or how we were created, we will continue to be deceived and live under their infecting influence. We can only begin the process to freedom when we recognize the true source behind those thoughts, separate them from ourselves, and understand that they’re lies that have nothing to do with our true identity or how God created us. Then we can begin to apply II Corinthians 10:3-5 to see those lying thoughts taken captive and brought into obedience to Christ. What mind-infecting, behavior-altering parasite has too long exerted its influence to prevent you from fulfilling God’s will for your life? What’s been robbing and stealing God’s purposes and plans for you by keeping you trapped and imprisoned under its influence? What are you protecting and defending, even though it’s destroying you and your destiny, instead of letting the Lord deliver you? As Carl Zimmer inquired in the article, “Why would an organism do all it can to ensure its tormentor’s survival rather than fight for its own?”

This is the year to “kill” it before it kills you (and your destiny). (Please don’t presume I’m advocating killing any person or group that you perceive to be your problem. 😉 I trust all to understand that mental-slaverywe’re talking about internal hindrances – the battlefield of the mind against our true enemies from the spiritual realm.) This is the year to take captive the thing that you’ve been captive to, to bring into obedience to Christ the thing you’ve been obeying other than Him, to conquer what’s previously conquered you, and to control what’s been controlling you. What is that thing that’s caused you to continue wandering around the same mountain in the wilderness? What has caused you to continue sitting on the banks of the Jordan even after God told you to get your feet wet and GO possess the land (to continue sitting on the sidelines when the Lord said to get in the game)? What are the giants (or demonic parasites) presenting the illusion that you can’t do what God said? While it may be an obvious sin and addiction for some, for others it may be a more subtle stronghold. Is it pride? anger? impatience? gossip? envy? unforgiveness or bitterness? (or other character flaws we’re defensive about and fight to protect when confronted) Is it laziness? slothfulness? passivity? complacency? idleness? selfishness? irresponsibility or unfaithfulness? Is it doubt? unbelief? double-mindedness? or insecurity? Is it oppression/captivity in the area of your spirit, your emotions, your body (health), your finances? I know for myself, one of the primary things the Lord has served notice to is fear – informing us that it’s time to stop waiting to be delivered from all fear before we move forward in obedience to His call. It’s time to go even if we have to do it shaking and quaking, with sweaty palms, dry mouth, butterflies in our stomachs, and any other way fear manifests to try to intimidate and stop us – because deliverance comes by submitting to God (doing what He’s telling us to do) and resisting the enemy (refusing to do what he’s telling us to). Just as the way into captivity to fear was the result of yielding to it one step at a time, the way out is by refusing to yield to it any longer – one step at a time. Though He’s been asking me to take steps to confront and overcome some giants in this area for the past several years, this year He’s asking me to face down and slay their general. There’s no more time to bow down to (obey/serve) fear. We must bow down to (obey/serve) God alone.

Is there anything you’re bowing down to, yielding to, and serving instead of the Lord? God began telling us in the latter part of 2014 – “no more business as usual.” It’s time to walk in our inheritance. It’s time to possess the land. He’s wanting to bring us from the narrow and restricted place into the large and spacious place (II Samuel 22, Psalm 18), but goin order to do so we must break free of all the mind-infecting, behavior-altering influences that have kept us from believing and being who God created us to be and doing what He created us to do. We must stop waiting for them to leave and must make them leaveaggressively RESISTING them until they flee (James 4:7). We truly have a choice in whether or not our destiny is fulfilled; we must choose to obey God and do our part. He’s clear that if we don’t, just as He warned Esther (and just as He did with Saul, with the original Israelites in the wilderness, and others), He will pass over us and find someone else to do it. But you haven’t gone through everything you’ve gone through to miss your appointed season now and end up with only regrets. So, it’s time to refute and cast down every imagination that tells us we CAN’T that’s been exalting itself above the truth of God’s Word that we CAN do ALL THINGS God asks us to through Him who gives us Strength (Philippians 4:13). It’s time to no longer be conformed to the brain infection of the enemy, but to be TOTALLY TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our minds to God’s Word (Romans 12:1-2). (the Formed in the Secret Place notes are also key to this process). It’s time that the only spirit we HOST is the Holy Ghost. It’s time to be hungry enough for God’s will and serious enough about His call that we’re ready and willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES! His divine power has given us everything we need to succeed (II Peter 1:3-11)!

He has not promised that it will be without a struggle or a fight. But He has promised that if we exert the effort to do OUR PART, drawing on the enabling power of His Holy Spirit and co-laboring with Him, that as we “suffer” through taking those steps of obedience to confront and overcome those things that have previously overcome us, we will soon see that they’re being crushed under our feet as God establishes us, secures us, completes us, perfects us, and makes us what we ought to be. (Romans 16:19-20, I Peter 5:8-11)

Richest Blessings and Prayers for God’s BEST throughout the year! Let’s get up (ARISE) and GO FOR IT with all our hearts!

To hear the message God led us to the morning after writing this that tore us up with confirmations, go to this link to hear TD Jake’s first message of the year on steps to fulfilling our destinies (Removing the Barriers to Destiny). It will only be available through this Saturday, Jan 10 (message starts around 17:30 and ends around 2:01:00). (If you’re reading this after that time, try finding this sermon from 1-4-15 on youtube here. Hopefully it won’t disappear from there as well. Both this word and his New Year’s Eve message – “A New Normal” (more confirmation of “no more business as usual) were once again packed with precise and powerful confirmations of what we’ve been hearing from God.)

Reversion

Reversion: an act or process of returning to an earlier condition or state; (in law) the returning of property to a former owner (www.merriam-webster.com)

Though the things I felt God wanted me to say in part 1 of this note (The Inception of Inversion) were clear and confirmed, I didn’t yet know where He was going with the message. So I began to pray that He would show me how He wanted to land this plane ~ what remedy He wanted to propose for the problem He revealed.

He began to remind me of a series of words He’d given me toward the beginning of the year that answered my question in an “only God” kind of way! This series of words had been about how, just like the first followers of Jesus, God is still counting on His people to turn the world upside down! As He reminded me of these words in the context of His emphasis on all the enemy’s been doing since Eden to cause inversion in the earth, I realized that by calling us to turn an inverted world upside down, in reality He’s calling us to turn it right-side up again. Reversion.

In order to do so, He needs us to be filled with His Spirit and manifesting the fullness of both the fruit of His Spirit (His character) as well as the gifts of His Spirit (His power).

Reverting the World through His Character

God’s Kingdom has often been described as an upside-down Kingdom.

“God’s Kingdom is an upside-down, inside-out Kingdom. The world tells us to look out for number one, that we only live once so we need to do whatever makes us happy; God tells us that in order to find the full, meaningful, abundant life He has for us, we have to lay our lives down (die to ourselves, our will, our reputation), take up our cross and follow Him. The world tells us we need to do anything and everything it takes to be successful; God tells us that in order to be great we must be the servant of all. The world tells us to promote and defend self; God tells us to humble ourselves under His mighty hand and He will lift us up. The world tells us we should accumulate and hoard as much as possible; God tells us that in order to increase we must give away and that if we pursue His Kingdom and righteousness first in our lives, He will add to us all we need.” (excerpt from first Holy Spirit book)

But in light of what He’s shown us, we must realize that His Kingdom only appears upside down to a world that’s been inverted through sin.

upside-down-thinking-free-christian-message-card-copy(image from freechristianmessagecards.wordpress.com)

If we could see in the spiritual realm, the little boy in this image would represent everywhere the kingdom of the enemy reigns, while the little girl represents everywhere the Kingdom of God has come, His Word is followed, and His will is accomplished. To an inverted person/world, the Kingdom of God and all those converted to it seem like the ones who are upside down. By demonstrating the character of God and the principles of His Kingdom, the world can begin to see things upright, as they were meant to be. Those who love inversion instead of Truth may reject the conviction this brings and choose to remain upside down (John 3). But those who love Truth will realize they weren’t created to be upside down. They’ll desire to turn their lives around (repent), receive our King and be transferred (and transposed) into His Kingdom.

Reverting the World through His Power

Yet for many, the demonstration of God’s character will not be sufficient, nor our testimony about the Truth. After all, who are we to imply that they’re the ones who are upside down? From their point of view, we are. Who’s to say who’s right and who’s wrong. If they don’t accept God’s Word as truth, their beliefs will seem just as valid to them (or more so) than ours. Thankfully, knowing this in advance, God provided all we need.

“If God had ever intended for anybody to be able to succeed at fulfilling the great commission solely through testimonies, reasoning, historical evidence, and wise and persuasive words, [the first disciples] would have been the most equipped to do so. Yet Jesus told them that all of this experience and personal testimony was not sufficient. He required them to wait until they had been baptized by His Spirit before they went out to reach the world. Only after being filled with His Spirit were they empowered to be the kind of witnesses who were accused of turning the world upside down (Acts 17:6b, AMP). (Which we know, since spoken from the perspective of an inverted world, means they were truly turning it right-side up again) If we desire to see the same dramatic results and effectiveness they did, then we must not limit the Holy Spirit to working in the hearts of others solely through the preaching of the Word. Like Jesus and His first believers, we must also allow God to confirm His Word through all of the supernatural gifts and manifestations of His Spirit He provides to build up the church and reach the lost. We must allow Him to work through us not merely with wise and persuasive words, but with the demonstration of His POWER! (I Corinthians 2:4)” (excerpt from first Holy Spirit book)

A few days after the Lord reminded me of the previous series of words about turning the world upside down, connecting them to the message about inversion in this way, He led me to listen to a sermon a friend sent me more than a month earlier that I hadn’t yet heard. Within the first 20 minutes God had confirmed so many things (even something I’d just asked Him that morning) that I knew this was a divinely orchestrated moment. This is a short, but powerful, clip from that message, containing one of many confirmations He gave again during this time of His call to His people in this hour to turn the world upside down again (truly right-side up again).

Reverting the World through His Remnant

Just as TD Jakes emphasized, Jesus accomplished reversion on a massive scale with only twelve ~ an unlikely twelve at that. And the effects continue to this day. Though we know this number grew exponentially, He began with only twelve. Some may remember the significance the story of Gideon has played in the things God’s been emphasizing the last several years. As discussed in Ninevah’s Shore , that account is another through which God assures us that He doesn’t need a majority to accomplish His purpose. His reversion can begin with a remnant. Interestingly, God wove the account of Gideon back into His message in an awesome way in the original series of upside-down words He gave at the beginning of the year. It was there in Ninevah’s Shore all along, but I didn’t see it till He highlighted it this year.

(Referring to the sign God gave Gideon to instill the courage he needed to carry out His plan) When Gideon arrived, behold, a man was telling a dream to his comrade. And he said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian and came to the tent and struck it so that it fell, and TURNED IT UPSIDE DOWN so that the tent lay flat. And his comrade replied, This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon son of Joash, a man of Israel. Into his hand God has given Midian and all the host. When Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped and returned to the camp of Israel and said, Arise, for the Lord has given into your hand the host of Midian. Judges 7:13-15

Because God had already given us so many words about turning the world upside down, I could hardly contain myself when He showed me the concept again in this account! And it was all the more thrilling to see what (or rather who) had been used to bring about this turn of events!

“I love the seeming absurdity of God’s ways, that an army could be defeated by a mere loaf of bread rolling into the camp! We can gain more insight by looking at the type of bread God used in this imagery. According to some, barley ordinary people to fulfill extraordinary planscan represent something deemed to be “less than” in the eyes of the world. The footnote in the Amplified states:

‘Alluding to the insignificance of Gideon and his family, or perhaps his whole troop. Barley then, as it is still, was distinguished from “fine flour.” “To hear himself but a Barley-cake, troubled him not. It matters not how base we be thought, so [long as] we be victorious” (Bishop Joseph Hall, cited by The Cambridge Bible).”’

And indeed, this confirmed the message God has been reminding us of ~ that He delights in using the people and plans the world despises, disregards, and disqualifies in order that He will get ALL the glory!” (excerpt from Ninevah’s Shore)

God can and will use a remnant to bring about this reversion. And that remnant will be made up of “the foolish things,” the rejected stones, the outcasts, and misfits ~ you and me. I’ll close with one more short clip from the sermon above, which again confirmed God’s Gideon remnant and the emphasis from many previous posts of being CHOSEN to be among them.

Time To Roll!
Blessings and Prayers!

The Inception of Inversion

Inversion: a change in the position, order, or relationship of things so that they are the opposite of what they had been (merriam-webster.com)

Inversion. It’s a word and concept God’s been highlighting to us since 2011, when He began to show us the roots behind some of the teachings we’d been hearing.

There’s nothing quite so bizarre or baffling as witnessing something being misinterpreted and misunderstood to the degree that it actually ends up being presented and applied in the exact opposite way from what was originally intended. Yet, this complete twisting and perversion has become increasingly prevalent and popular in the world all around us.

After the Lord showed us how degrees of inversion were creeping into the church in a masked form (discussed below), He then drew our attention to how it was occurring in many other places as well, reversing roles, distorting definitions, and flipping facts in an attempt to rewrite history and redefine culture. We have seen it occurring in school curriculum, the media, politics, the entertainment industry -through supposedly Biblical films from Hollywood such as Noah (which was wrapped in the snake skin of Kabbalah), in revisions of fairy tales such as Sleeping Beauty (“Maleficent”), and in every other sphere where we see good being redefined and re-presented as evil and evil as good.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and prudent and shrewd in their own sight! … — Who justify and acquit the guilty for a bribe, but take away the rights of the innocent and righteous from them! Therefore, as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be like rottenness and their blossom shall go up like fine dust—because they have rejected and cast away the law and the teaching of the Lord of hosts and have not believed but have treated scornfully and have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 5:20-24

I realized God was also exposing this growing trend to others when my brother and his family visited us earlier in the year. My ears were perked and my heart on high alert when, in our conversation about pop-culture, he identified “the inversion” that’s taking place more and more. I knew God was continuing to confirm.

He heavily emphasized it again when we heard the shocking news of the five pastors in Houston who were subpoenaed for their sermons, from those ironically citing “the separation of church and state” as justification for their extraordinarily unconstitutional actions. These words from Thomas Jefferson (in a private letter, not the constitution) have been misused for years to try to banish Christianity from our schools and government. But recently we’ve all witnessed this error taken to the extent of trying to evict religious convictions from peoples’ private businesses, medical practices, ministries, and now even churches. The very words written to further ensure our Constitutional protection from the government, prohibiting them from making laws that inhibit our religious freedoms, are being used to attempt to do the precise thing they were intended to prevent. It’s a complete inversion of the original intent!

(The first amendment, U.S. Constitution)

After so many confirmations from the Lord to address this issue, when I began to peer further down the rabbit hole, I was amazed to discover that one of the definitions given for inversion in the dictionary is same-sex attraction/relations and “ identification with the gender role of the opposite sex”. This aspect of inversion has taken center stage in both the church and nation, and is at the root of many other things occurring to invert God’s Word and will in society.

Once again, what’s happening in the nation is a mirror reflection of what’s been happening in the church (the natural mirroring the spiritual)!

In the occult, this core tenet of inversion is referred to as “the law of reversal.” And the occult is exactly where we need to look in order to understand the roots behind this phenomenon in society and the church today. The Lord first showed us the growing inversion that’s been occurring in the church by revealing the foundational teachings of a very influential occult group that’s more pervasive than we ever realized, whose belief system is rooted in a total inversion of truth spanning all the way back to Genesis. This inversion portrays Yahweh, the Creator and Only True God, as a villainous “god” – the enemy of mankind – while depicting lucifer (satan, the serpent) as a benevolent “god” who took compassion on mankind and helped free us from the oppression of Yahweh‘s unreasonable rules. Yahweh‘s original rule not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (and all of His subsequent moral laws) are depicted as His attempt to keep mankind subservient, blinded to the truth that we could become like Him (God) through the enlightenment and experience the serpent offered. In other words, those who adhere to this view actually believe the serpent’s original lie that deceived Adam and Eve. This inverted revisionist history of the events of Eden naturally encourages people to cast off Yahweh‘s so called “oppressive” message of Lordship in favor of lucifer’s inclusive and accepting message of lawlessness – to “do as thou wilt”. It leads people to reject the true God in an attempt to become their own god.

However, such a blatant form of inversion could never deceive the whole world. Knowing that many who believe in Yahweh/Jesus would never purposefully reject God in order to follow satan, these ideas have been stealthily shape-shifted for Christendom. The Christianized rendition of the inversion retains the good God vs. bad God framework, but wisely dispenses of the names Yahweh and lucifer in order to avoid being immediately recognized and rejected by Christians as error. Instead, for believers, the original tale of the “good God vs. bad God” has been repackaged to simply represent people’s idea, view, or concept of God. Yet make no mistake, the True God, Yahweh, as revealed in His Word, is still being portrayed as a villainous concept of God – a wrong, oppressive, and outdated view of who God/Jesus really is. Yahweh’s true love, grace, gospel, and salvation that involves repentance, transformation, and Lordship is presented as an enemy of mankind and what they claim God/Jesus is really like (even to the ultimate extreme of inversion at times of calling this true view of God/Jesus, anti-Christ). Likewise, the serpent (lucifer/satan) is the one still masquerading behind this erroneous version of the “good God” – portrayed as the right view of who God/Jesus really is. His counterfeit versions of love, grace, the gospel, and salvation give us freedom from Lordship, allowing people to continue living however seems best to them without repentance, transformation, or judgment (see Exposing the Gospel of Lawlessness and The First Law of satanism ).

Those deceived by this version of the serpent’s inversion cannot continue to accept the whole counsel of God’s Word, including large portions of the New Testament, since it can no longer reconcile with this new revelation of God/Jesus they’ve received (see Exposing the Spirit of a Magician , Part of the Spirit of a Magician’s Grand Finale, the Spirit of a Magician and Supernatural Power, and The Spirit of a Magician and Apostasy – part 1).  A good test to know whether or not we’ve been deceived by this inverted version of God/Jesus is to humbly and prayerfully read through the entire New Testament (in a reliable translation), doing our best to rid ourselves of all preconceived biases and desired outcomes, and sincerely asking God to guide us into all Truth and deliver us from all deception and error. As we do, we should take note of everything that contradicts or challenges our present beliefs. If we find that our present theological views cause us to recoil against or reject the words of Jesus, Paul, Peter, James, John, Jude, and others or to realize that we would actually identify their words as “the voice of the enemy” rather than the voice of God/Jesus/the Holy Spirit if we heard the same words spoken by someone today, then we have our answer. For a quick test, simply reading Jesus’ words to the churches in Revelation 2-3 can be quite telling. If we find the words of the real Jesus to the churches surprising, offensive, or contradictory to our view of who Jesus is, we have our answer.

As mentioned in Signs of the End – part 1 through the analogy of the bizarro world, we believe God also showed us that this spreading inversion in the church (the error of lawlessness) is the enemy’s forerunner message to prepare the way for the antichrist (II Thessalonians 2)- an inversion of God’s forerunner message of repentance which prepares the way for Jesus (Luke 3:1-20). Sadly, with every new inversion that’s embraced and enshrined in our society, I believe the Lord revealed the pillars of the enemy’s kingdom are being established and swiftly drawing his kingdom to earth (see Dark of the Moon – part 2).

Of course, we know that the true inversion that occurred in the garden of Eden came through the words satan (wrapped in a snake skin) hissed that deceived mankind into believing that God’s boundary which was given in love for their good was instead oppressive and evil – cruelly withholding something good from them and preventing them from being and doing all that was possible. Thus the inception of inversion entered the earth, and the enemy has continued this mission to completely twist, distort, pervert, and invert God’s Word, will, and world ever since.

To be continued… (part 2 here ~ Reversion)
